Heat and battery backup problem in laptop due to dual operating systems.

I am using dual operating system in my laptop (Unix and windows 7) in Unix my system works fine but when I switched to windows my system gets heat up and reduces battery backup to half as compared to Unix ,please suggest any query I don't know wt actually is happening .I also want to add that I haven't any antivirus installed.

I could sight no problem in both of the Operating systems you named i.e. UNIX and Windows. Since both the operating systems are advanced in their own league.
As of UNIX,since it is a fast and the among most advanced OS,the battery it will consumes when you use it is justifiable.So in this case avoid switching frequently to other operating system. And in case you wish to use Windows,stick to it.
Also it can be do to the erroneous presence of some bugs which is leading to such heating up and discharging. So you must install an anti-virus software for the future safety of your laptop.

Friend, normally Battery Device Drivers are responsible for the functioning of the Battery. This may cause problems if they are in default with Windows. You need to un install them and download the other Versions.

Steps to be Followed:

STEP 1: Press Windows Key +R and Open the Run. Type "devmgmt.msc" and Hit Enter.

STEP 2: Device Manager Windows Opens.

STEP 3: Click on "Device Manager" and on "Batteries" and it extends.

STEP 4: Select "Microsoft API Compliant Control Method Battery" and Right Click it. Select Un Install.

STEP 5: Restart the Laptop and the Battery will come back to the Good Condition.

It have many reason.
first that your Unix cover minimum battery and heat energy than window.
second any chance of virus in your window system.
or may be it chance of room temperature
So work in a low temp. area. Use a good anti-virus and scan your laptop.

You must be using more heavy softwares.

Or when you use unix, and then switch to windows, there must be pressure on the processor to switch directly to another operating system.

So the system is not able to close all the processes and start new processes due to which system gets heated up.

Must reboot your system once you switch to other operating system.

the heating problem you are facing is just because you are using dual operating system,relatively unix doesnt makes the system hot as does windows,
but its normal with modern days laptop because of muticore processors and inbuilt graphic cards which generates a lot of heat.
But if feel that it is heating more than it should be,then get it checked by computer engineer asap.

in ur case there are many problems.
first chalk ur battery.....is it's fine then u have to install a good antivirus in windows OS .and avoid o used heavy software.....
and most imp.thing u must boot ur laptop to switch one OS to another OS......

first click on the start menu and open the control panel

then go to the system and security option

after click on the power options

or

directly press the windows key + r and type in that powercfg.cpl and press enter

then there you choose the power saver option

and if you want to change more power ....then click on the ...change settings option in the same window

and click on the change advanced power settings ..........and change your power plan as your like...................ALL THE BEST

There is no real logic i can find for getting excess exhaustion in windows while unix works fine.

Only explanation can be that windows may have too many background, TSR programs running or being vulnerable against virus windows may have infection and doing odd things, otherwise battery is a secular device and dont recognize any program and let itself be consumed by all equally.

There is no problem with your windows and unix installation on your pc

Then the problems you might have are

1.your system is infected by viruses which is making 100% usage of your cpu thus exhusting your system resourses
2.your are running some high end applications in your pc
3.your applications are using garphics memory of your system

Dear friends..

For Battery back up problem follow these steps..

Click on start menu..

Type in search box Device manager..

Open that Device manager..

Next chose batteries and it extends..


Now click on "Microsoft API Compliant Control Method Battery"

Uninstall this.
