Hibernate option not working due to low memory issue in windows XP

I am windows XP Pro in my computer having AMD Athlon64 2800+, an MSI RS480 motherboard with 512 MB RAM. I was able to use Hibernate option without any issue. However i am not able to use this function now due to low memory warning on c drive. Is this normal? How can i fix this issue?

Re: Hibernate option not working due to low memory issue in windows XP

When a Computer with windows XP goes into hibernate mode, it creates a type of file called "hiberfil.sys" in the root directory. The size of this file is equal to the system RAM because windows XP store the content of RAM in this file .You have already mentioned that you were getting low memory warnings on c drive which means there is no space to create this file which is necessary to create the "hiberfil.sys". If you want to use the hibernation functionality again then free some memory space.
