Got the new Windows 8 installed in my laptop which is working without any issues as of now but have some little problem in installing the Microsoft Office 2007 because it just fails to install and says “Error ww\HomeSrWW.cab”. What does it mean? How can I resolve this now?

    Hello friend....

As your trying to install MS office 2007 in your laptop, you are getting an Error ww\HomeSrWW.cab.

It can be the problem of windows installer service.Try following steps.

->Close any open windows in your system.

->Click start-> Run -> type msiexec.exe /unregister and click ok and note that there is a space between them.

->Click start -> Run ->type msiexec.exe /regserver and click ok and make sure that there is a space between them.

->Once this is done, click start -> Run ->type services.msc and check if the windows installer service is started. If not right click and click start to start the service of windows installer

Now try installing the MS Office 2007

    Hope this may help you...

    You can try following Options

    OPTION 1
Examine the shiny side of the 2007 Office CD or DVD to verify that it is clean and that it has no scratches.
You also can clean the CD or the DVD with a soft cloth. To do this, wipe the CD or DVD with a soft cloth in a straight line from the center of the CD or the DVD to the edge. If the CD or the DVD appears scratched, you must obtain a new CD or DVD

    OPTION 2
If your computer is equipped with a second CD drive or DVD drive, try to install Office by using the second drive

    OPTION 3
    TEST CD or DVD
Try to install 2007 Microsoft Office system on another computer from the CD or the DVD

To do this, follow these steps:
    1. Take the Office CD or DVD to another computer that does not already have the 2007 Office programs installed.
    2. Insert the CD or the DVD into the CD drive or the DVD drive.
    3. The Office Setup process should start automatically. Follow the instructions to install Office.

    OPTION 4
Scan the hard disk for errors

    1. Exit all open programs.
    2. Click Start, and then click Computer.
    3. Right-click the hard disk on which you are trying to install the 2007 Microsoft Office system programs.
    4. Click Properties, and then click the Tools tab.
    5. In the Error-checking area, click Check Now.
    6. Click to select the Automatically fix file system errors check box.
    7. Click to select the Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors check box.
    8. Click Start.

    OPTION 5
    Defragment the hard disk
