How can I block some specific websites in my computer without using any browser in windows 7?

I have a windows 7 PC. I spend most of the time in my office and thus it provides an opportunity to my childrens to view some illegal or pornographic content. I tried to block some websites through the browsers but they use some IP addresses and thus are able to break the restriction. I want to set a restriction such that my children can’t open the blocked site even after changing the DNS setting. Is there any way to do that?

    Dear friend,

You can install antivirus like Avira Internet Security which have parental control option in them.

In this you can set the settings for parental control and lock the antivirus with password.
When you are leaving home, keep the antivirus in child mode so that they cannot view restricted content.

    Hope I helped you

    dear friend,

There are more than one way by which you can block some specific websites in my computer without using any browser in windows 7.

I'm giving the simple procedure by which you can get the result.

You have to follow the steps below to do so-

Download the attachment & open it in notepad.

Go to the bottom of the notepad.

You can see an IP address which is 127.0.0.1 after that localhost is written.

Press enter & go to the next row in the notepad.

Type 127.0.0.2 then provide the website that you want to block.

You can block as many websites as you want by simply incrementing the order.

i.e the next IP will be 127.0.0.3 then 127.0.0.4 then 127.0.0.5 & so on, containing different addresses you want to block.

    Go to C: > Windows > System32 > Drivers > Etc > Hosts.

Copy all the changed & saved content from the notepad & overwrite the whole Hosts file and save it.

Now restart your computer & launch your web browser.

Try to launch any blocked site & you'll see that it is unable to open the website.

The advantage of this process is, you'll get no balloon notification, no pop-up icons for that-it'll simply block that website.

    Hi,
Your quest for site control without using the browser can be done in several methods.

First use windows option by going to :
Control panel > Internet option > Content tab > Parental controls > St your control from multiple menu in accordance with your choice and block sites where you dont wish to be accessed by others.

Some antivirus will full feature offer the same control by stopping the site browsing.

Firewalls with full features when installed can also controls the browsing direction and can block sites listed with them.

    Try them
    Thanks.
