    hello friend,

To create a new Scheduled Task :

1)Open the Group Policy Management Console. Right-click the Group Policy object (GPO) that should contain the new preference item, and then click Edit.
    2) In the console tree under Computer Configuration or User Configuration, expand the Preferences folder, and then expand the Control Panel Settings folder.
3)Right-click the Scheduled Tasks node, point to New, and select Scheduled Task.
4)In the New Scheduled Task Properties dialog box, select an Action for Group Policy to perform. ( see the given below "Actions".)
5)On the Task tab, enter task settings for Group Policy to configure or remove.
6)If creating, updating, or replacing a task:
Click the Schedule tab, and configure one or more schedules for the task.
7)Click the Settings tab, and enter any additional task settings for Group Policy to configure.
8)Click the Common tab, configure any options, and then type your comments in the Description box.
9)Click OK. The new preference item appears in the details pane.

    Actions

This type of preference item provides a choice of four actions: Create, Replace, Update, and Delete. The behavior of the preference item varies with the action selected and whether the scheduled task already exists.

    Hi there,

Windows provides an application for the purpose called TASK SCHEDULER. You can easily schedule/program any application to execute at any time.

    # open RUN [by pressing WINDOWS+R]
    # type "taskschd.msc /s" without quotes and press OK
    This will open Task Scheduler.

#Select "Create Basic Task" Pane and a Wizard will Open.
    # Type name and Description of your own Task and Click "Next".
    # Select when you want the Event or Task to Run and Click "Next".
    # Select the Date and Time at which the First Task to Start and Click "Next".

Re: How can I schedule a program to run on a specified time using windows 8 release preview?

    Hello,

1.Click on the “Start” button and type tasks in the search box and left click the Task scheduler icon to open it.

    2. In the Task Scheduler window, go to Action –> Create Basic Task to create a new task.

    3.
Since we are scheduling a custom task for hard drive defragmentation, enter a relevant name and description to the task. Click “Next”.

    4.
In the “Task trigger” option, you have to select the trigger duration on which you want the task to run automatically. You may choose – daily, weekly, monthly or every time when your computer starts. The trigger settings entirely depend on when you want Windows to execute the program.

    5.
It’s good to defrag your hard disk weekly or monthly, therefore here I am selecting “Weekly” option as a Task Trigger.

    6.
Now you have to select the start date, time and day on which the task should occur. Check the box next to any preferred week day and click “Next”.

    7.
In the Action window, select “Start a program” as you are creating this task to run the Defraggler program automatically. Click “Next”.

    8.
Click the “Browse” button to select the program from the location where it is installed. If you want to create a task to run some other program then you should go to that program’s folder and choose its exe file.

    9.
A summary will appear in the next screen. Check the box next to “Open the Properties dialog for this task when I click Finish”. Check the Trigger and Action box. If everything goes fine, click on the “Finish” button.

    10.
In the properties dialog box check the “Configure for” drop down. Select Windows 7, Windows Server 2008 R2 from the drop down menu and click OK.

    Thanks!!!!!!!!!!

Dear,It is possible to create the Schedule For your work in window 8. The Task Scheduler MMC snap-in helps you schedule automated tasks that perform actions at a specific time or when a certain event occurs. It maintains a library of all scheduled tasks, providing an organized view of the tasks and a convenient point of access for managing them. From within the library, you can run, disable, modify, and delete tasks. For this you have to follow some of the simple steps. To Run Task Scheduler using the Windows interface1. Click the Start button.2. Click Control Panel.3. Click System and Maintenance.4. Click Administrative Tools.5. Double-click Task Scheduler.
