To do the same, click on "Start" button, type "regedit" and hit enter button on your keyboard. After that Continue in UAC Prompt. When Regedit opens, navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\explorer. In the left pane, find "explorer.exe" and right click on it. Click on New>>key. After that type "DriveIcons" and hit "Enter" key. Now in the left Pane, right click on "DriveIcons" and move to New>> Key.Type the drive letter(such as C,D,E) and click on New>>Key. Once you have done everything, type "DefaultIcon" and hit enter key. After that right click on "Default" on the right Pane and hit on "Modify". Now you are moving toward the main step.Give the full path(example-C:\Windows\System32\imageres.dll,31) of your icon and click on "Ok" and close the registry Editor.
