How to get rid of server error #0x80072eff shown on Windows Vista?

It is not possible to check the mails received through Windows Mail using my PC upgraded to Windows Vista as it shows server error #0x80072eff all the time. I am also not able to install important updates due to this error. I have tried to perform all these actions with Internet Explorer. Is there any way available to fix this error?

You need to configure the proxy settings in Internet Explorer correctly for fixing up this issue. As a first step, open the ‘Internet Explorer’ on your system. By the time you can view the browser window, go to its top part. Make a single click on ‘Tools’ menu afterwards and hit the ‘Internet Options’ option. This will bring up ‘Internet Options’ window on the screen from which press the ‘Connections’ tab. Then, click the ‘LAN Settings’ option and locate the ‘automatically detect settings’ label from the window pop up on the screen. Click the checkbox next to this label for clearing it and press the ‘OK’ button. After that, hit the ‘OK’ button in ‘Internet Options’ window.

If you are using Windows Mail, lets check for the proxy settings.

    1. Start Internet Explorer.
    2. Click on Tools menu, click Internet Options.
    3. Click the Connections tab, and then click LAN Settings.
    4. Clear the automatically detect settings check box, and then click OK.
    5. Click OK.
