    How to hide files in the system?

    I need to maintain security to the certain informations so I want to hide certain files in the system from other users usage. What is the procedure to do that?

    To hide a file or folder in a system. Right click on the corresponding file or folder and select properties In general tab Enable the hidden checkbox and select apply and ok to save the settings. Now the file or folder is in blurred state. Then do the following: -
    1. Control Panel Folder options (or) Tools Folder options
    2. In view tab → Advanced settings → Files and Folders → Hidden Files and Folders → select
    Do not show hidden files and folders
    3. Click apply and ok to save the settings

    To recover the hidden file/folder. Goto Folder options and select show hidden files and folders & click apply and ok to get the hidden file.

    Note : Remember the location of the file/folder.

    Some window user want to sustain file in their computer but don't want that their file opened by others.For that ,there is file hidden option to hide the particular file.
    In the windows,there is facility is provided to hide the files which you want.

    Hide the files
    Open the computer window.then go to Toos menu.
    Tools --> Folder Option.
    you will shown dialog box in which there is four option such as General , View , File types,Offline files.
    Select View option ---> tick mark on "Do not show hidden files".
    now any file you want to hide.go to that file.right click on it.select properties.
    Tick mark on "Hidden" shown at below.select "Ok".now selected file is hidden.

    If you want to show the hidden file.then
    Go to tools menu --> Folder option --> View option -- tick mark on "show hidden files".
    now hidden folder will show and you can open also.

    To Hide the files are folders follow these simple steps :
    Right click on the file or folder you want to hide and click on properties
    ►In general tab in Attributes click on Hidden and click apply and click Ok
    ►Now Open Control Panel and and click on folder options and In view tab click on don't show the hidden files
    ►click Ok
    Now your files are hidden and cannot be seen
    again to view those files:
    ►Open control panel and folder options and in view
    ►click on show hidden files and now you files are seen

    Hey just follow the below steps and you will be able to hide any file and folder in your computer:-

    1) Open "My Computer" .

    2) Select the file you want to hide.

    3) Right click on the folder or file.

    4) Select the "Properties".

    5) Under "General" tab check on the box of "Hidden."

    6) Now a pop up will come, asking for whether you want to hide all the files and folder along with sub-folders or only the folder.

    7) Select according to your comfort, and click on "OK".

    Now you can do this to any file and folder available on the your disk.

    Well it"s very easy just go to

    1.click on my computer.

    2.click on tools.

    3.go to folder options

    4.click on general attribute

    5.click on Do not show hidden files.

    If you want to hide your files in your system ..So iwill help you to give the best solution for this
    You just follow my easy steps...
    First of all go to your file which you want to hide now just right click on it then a click on the properties option..
    And then a new windows will appears on your windows.
    Now here you can see two option in the bottom first read me and second one is hidden..Just check on the hidden option ...
    And then click on apply button and then press OK or click on OK.
    You have successively hide your file..

    Hello friend........

    it is very easy to hide files in your computer which you want to hide

    just follow these steps:-
    1.open the my computer.
    2.now open the drive in which the file present that you want to hide.
    3.Right click on that folder and open properties.
    4.There you click on hidden option.

    That's it by doing this u can hide files.

    And then to open the file you go to the tools option >folder options >View > there you select 'show hidden files and folders' that's it by doing this you can open the hidden files.

    Yes, you can hide your important file or folder for the security purposd. Follow the below procedure.
    • Right click on the file or folder which you want to hide.
    • A list will be opened, in that select the properities.
    • Now click on the general option and select the hide box.
    • Now you must click on apply and then Ok to save this new settings.
    • Now open the control panel.
    • Click on the folders option.
    • There you will find the tab named view and click to open it.
    • Select the option don't show the hidden files and save the same.
    • If you want to see the hidden files then select the option click on the hidden files.

    Hi friend

    you haven't mentioned the operating system that you are using.

    But the process would be some what different for the windows xp and windows 7.

    Here are the steps to hide the files and folders.


    Method 1:-

    1. Right click on the folder that you want to hide it from other users.

    2. Then click on the properties.

    3. A window will open showing the last option as HIDDEN.

    4. tick the option and apply the changes then the folder that you want to hide will be hidden.

    This is the process to hide the folder and the files.


    The process to open the files and folder is illustrated below:-

    1. Open My Computer.

    2. On the command line below it a strip will be present indicating the following options.

    FILE EDIT VIEW FAVORITES TOOLS HELP.

    3. Click on Tools and click FOLDER OPTIONS.

    4. After that a window will open showing four options in it,

    5. In that click on view and in that you find a option showing the following

    6. Show hidden files and folders.


    Click on that in order to view the hidden files.

    It is too easy to hide the file and folder follow these steps:-

    Select the file you want to hide and Right click on the folder or file.

    Select the Properties.

    Open the properties window, then click the "General" tab check on the box of "Hidden."

    Click the Ok button..


    To show the hidden file follow these steps:-

    Open the Folder Option window, go to View tab in under Hidden files and folders, click Show hidden files and folders.

    hi my dear friend.......for hiding the files


    first select the files ......for which files you want to hide

    then press the alt+ENTER combination from the key board

    after that a small window will be displayed , in that window choose the General TAB

    then after select the hidden option which is located at the bottom of the same window

    after that click on the apply and then click on the Ok button

    then after your selected files will be automatically hidden ...........ALL THE BEST

    Hello friend,

    I have got the right solution with me don't worry just follow my advice.
    1.At the first go to the file you want to hide.
    2.Then afterwards right click on it.
    3.Then afterwards tap on Properties.
    4.Afterwards under the 'General' options check in the box for the option of 'Hidden'.
    5.And then click on 'APPLY' and then followed by the tab of 'Ok'.

    >>open my computer
    >>if u use window7 then go in "organize" and click on "folder and search option"
    >>if u use windowXP then go in "Tools" and click on "folder and search option"
    >>new window is open , click on "View"
    >>chech the "Don't show hidden files,folder or drives" and apply it

    Now your file is hidden, to show again it fallow all the step as above an finally
    >>chech the " show hidden files,folder or drives" and apply it

    It is easy to hide the files in the system
    fallow these steps to do so
    first select the file or folder which you want to hide
    then right click on it
    select properties
    then go to general
    then enable check the box hidden
    select apply
    then click on ok
    now goto control panel
    goto folder option
    then view
    select advanced settings
    then move to files and folders
    then slect dont show hidden files
    click apply

    - Firstly right click on the folder and open properties
    - now in general tab check the marker hide this file
    - now click apply and ok
    - refresh now your file is being hidden

    - now in the folder press alt + t + o
    - in the view tab select hide files and folder

    Its not a big problem,please go to the your system,

    After this go to the folder you want to hidden in your system and right click on this and open the properties,

    Then open the properties and you see the hidden option,

    Now click to hidden and apply the settings,

    After this you folder hidden in your system,
