How to locate the overheating problem with my system? Is there any defect in System hardware or Operating system?

When I on my system for an hour it will work fine for 15-20 mins later on the problem starts it will always get restarted again after 5 mins it will again restart by getting overheated. How to locate my problem? system hardware or operating system by the way I am using XP operating system.

Of course it is a hardware problem, Most probably Fan error or problem in your
computer Fan. Actually fan is a device in your system that work to reduce heat
generated in your system. So it may be your fan is not working properly.

But also any other problem may occur. Actually during process your system
generate a lot of heat so there is no problem that heat is generated. But computer
system have also a cooling system to reduce that heat and provide a batter environment

Heating problem is one of the comoon problem faced by people nowazdays.
The heating problem can be due to the hardware fault in your mother board.
One of the most common reason for heating problem is the cooling paste of the processor.

This is due to the overheating of your processor.
If your computer switches off after 20 minutes of switch on then your fan may not be working properly.
The processors in the system is always heated when used.
To avoid over heating there used to be aluminium covers to take the excess heat and release it to the atmosphere.
On the aluminium plates there are exhaust fans which flows the hot air to go away.
when the fan is not working then you need to fix the fan to reduce overheating.

there is software available on the internet...and the name of the software is core temperature

so just download this software from the website www.Cnet.com

and install it after the download and open it .....and see your pc temp


and another way is restart your pc and press delete key while pc restarting

then in the configuration window choose the hard ware health configuraion option........ to see your pc temperature

and the temperature is depending on the processor load ............when the processor has heavy load then the temp

will increases..................TO OVERCOME THIS ISSUE YOU NEED TO UNINSTALL THE UNWANTED PROGRAMS

I have the solution for your problem just do as i say..............

I hope it may be your hardware problem only as you are saying that
your system is getting overheated then the hardware present in your
system will tends your system to restart your automatically.

So it is better to check the RAM of your computer is fine. Because in that
cases only this type of problem will arise.

Or this type of problem occurs only when you are running the multiple applications
at a time in your computer. So to resolve this problem make your system turn off.
for some time and leave it for long time and make your system turn on. So you
may fix your problem.

To check your system temperature you download the 'Real Temperature 3.60' and
install that software in your computer and you can check the system temperature there.

To resolve this problem try to reboot your computer.If it don't work then try to change
the RAM so you may fix your problem.

Even if you cannot able to fix your problem buy a 'Extra Cooling fan' of your CPU and
insert that in your computer so you can prevent your system from over heating.

This Problem is hardware related but make sure that not to install unwanted software in your computer as they work in background using more C.P.U/ G.P.U and causes the system to Heat-up.

Secondly dust in FAN area blocks the air passage avoiding cooling of the processor. which causes over heating. a service and cleaning of the system by a professional is necessary.

Third use heat sink or thermal paste on your processor it avoid heating of system.

Face the C.P.U in an open place where air Passage is Maximum and do not cover the C.P.U fan.

Overheating is a damaging factor in any system and should be negotiated as soon as possible.

Open the case and check wheather the CPU (on processor) fan is working or not.

If it is not working change it soon.

If it is working, try to do something so that more air can be flowed to the CPU so that it can remain cool.

If it is a laptop there is a pad available which has fan mounted on it, buy it and keep the laptop on it .

See that the Fan is Running or not .


remove the dust from the Fan , which is Stopping the fan to rotate in a free manner.

Remove the RAM and clean it with a dry piece of cloth .

and reinsert it again . keep the case open for some time

After this open the CPU cab net and check the fans wire connected normally,

Then please disconnect all the fans wire and clean and reconnect and close the CPU Cabnet ,
