    For preventing the media information from being overwritten in Windows, you are supposed to;
    • Tap on the arrow given below the ‘Library’ tab in the Windows Media Player
    • From the list of options provided, you will have to select the option denoted as ‘More Options’
    • Then tap on the option denoted as ‘Automatic media information update for files’ area
    • There you will be provided with two options namely - Only add missing information, Overwrite all media information
    • You will have to check the radio button next to ‘Only add missing information’
    That’s it. This will prevent the Player from overwriting any media information in the player.

    Hello,

    Open the media player and than open the library.

    Click on properties.

    Now in the automatic media information update for files , check if the add missing information option is selected.

    This will help you in avoiding the overwriting.
