How to remove icons in windows control panel on Lenovo laptop?

Certain unwanted items were added on to the windows control panel on Lenovo laptop accidentally while my son played games. I need to remove these items from the windows control panel to avoid unnecessary mishaps. How can I remove that?

Hi, my dear friend.............to remove the icons from the control panel.........follow the given procedure

    Click Start Control Panel

Right click the invalid icon and choose Create Shortcut

Click Yes when you see the following dialog:

Windows cannot create a shortcut here.
Do you want the shortcut to be placed on the desktop instead?

In the Desktop right click the newly created shortcut and choose Properties

Click the Change Icon button then see the actual CPL file name in the resulting dialog

Using the CPL file name you should be able to trace the respective application.

If that application already uninstalled then you may simply delete the .CPL file as you no longer require that

    ALL THE BEST......!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Hi,

I dont think playing games create icons in Control Panel, they are created on Desktop.

Control Panel icons are important and are used for executing important tasks to solve our problems.

Control panel icons are Windows utilities and can be removed by using Windows Features OF/ON, but better left alone as they are always required.

If there are Icons on the Desktop they can be removed by uninstalling the related programs.

To do so, Start>Control Panel>Programs>select whichever icon/programs you need not see again, Uninstall and the programs and corresponding icons will be removed.

    Thanks.
