    How to reset the "Help and Support" Registry files on Windows XP System.

    On my Windows XP computer, wherever I found any help option and if I click on it, the help windows is not opening and also tried with F1 on any new application, but this too didn't helped me, when searched for solution I was asked to reset the Help and Support Registry files, so tell me how do I proceed?

    Hi, Dear friend

    To Reset the help and support Registry files ...simply Restore the windows settings that is by following below procedure

    first go to the start menu and click RUN


    and type in the RUN as msconfig and press ENTER key


    after that a window will be opened in that window choose the TOOLS TAB


    now choose system restore option from the suggested list


    and click the LAUNCH button from the bottom of the window


    then click NEXT and select the restore to previous state option and click NEXT


    then choose the DRIVE and that is default .......drive it is automatically chosen by the windows then click NEXT


    and after click save settigns and run button


    then after your process will begins .....


    after the completion of process reboot your pc ............

    It means you didnt install help and support center in your system, or it is automatically disabled by default.. here is the solution to solve your problem.. Follow these steps once by one and see the result.

    Press Win+R

    Type services.msc and Hit Enter.

    Scroll down to Help and Support and double-click it.

    Click on Start button

    change the Startup type to Automatic.

    Type regsvr32hhctrl.ocx

    press Enter.

    Restart your system and press F1 for help.
