    How to set up an FTP server in windows7?

    I want to create an FTP server in windows 7 so that I can access this server from different operating system in the network but I donít know the process so please guide me.

    To create an FTP server in windows 7, you must have IIS enabled in your system.If it is already installed and enabled in your windows 7 system then please follow the simple procedure which is given below:
    1. Open Control Panel by simply typing control in Run command. To do so firstly press Windows key + R and type “control”.After that Hit enter.
    2. Control Panel will open. Click on “Program and Features”
    3. In the left panel click on “Turn Windows Features On and Off” link.
    4. Then expand the “Internet Information Services” tab.
    5. Now check the “FTP Server” check box.
    6. Open IIS Manager by typing “ inetmgr” in Run command.
    7. Under connections, right click on sites and click Add FTP Site
    8. Enter the name of your FTP site and also provide the path of your site.
    9. Now follow the Instruction of wizard to configure your FTP site.​

    Dear,
    If you want to create the FTP server in window 7 you must have the IIS enabled in your system. If you have then follow the simple Steps:
    1. Open the RUN Command
    2. Type the Program and Features
    3. In the left Click on the Turn Window Features On and Off link
    4. Open the IIS Tab
    5. check the FTP Server
    6. Open the IIS Manager
    7. Right Click on the site and click on the FTP site
    8. Name of your FTP
    9. Also provide the Path of your site

    STEP 1: Open "Control Panel" and Click on "Programs".

    STEP 2: In Programs, Click on " Turn Windows Features On or Off".

    STEP 3: In this Windows, Check on "Internet Information Services" and Click on the "OK" Button.

    STEP 4: Open IIS Manager. Under Connections, Right - Click on Sites and Click Add FTP Site.

    STEP 5: Write the Name of your FTP Site and Path of the Folder which you want to Share.

    STEP 6: Select the Default IP Address and Select "No SSL" from the "SSL Options".

    STEP 7: Click on the "Finish" Button, when you are finished. Now, you can Access your FTP Server form any other Node of your Network.

    hello,
    to set FTP in window 7 you should follow the following steps:

    Step 1:Open control panel and then click on Programs.

    Step 2:In Programs, click on Turn Windows features on or off.

    Step 3:after clicking Turn Windows features on or off you will see a new window. Find Internet information Services and mark check on it and then click OK button.

    Step 4:Open IIS Manager. Under connections, right click on sites and click Add FTP Site as shown in the screenshot.

    Step 5:Write a name for your FTP site and select the path of folder you want to share.

    Step 6:Select the default IP address and select No SSL from SSL options.

    Step 7:choose the authentication settings at your will.


    Click finish and you are done. You can now access this local FTP server from any other node of your local network.


    If your IIS is already installed then start from step 4.

    Follow these steps:

    1.Open CONTROL PANEL and Click PROGRAMS.

    2.In programs,click on TURN WINDOWS FEATURES ON or OFF.

    3.Find internet Information services and mark check on it and click OK button.

    4.Open IIS manager.Under connections right click on the sites and FTP site as shown in the screen shot .

    5.Write a name for your FTP site and select path of the folder you wan to share.

    6.Select default IP address and select No SSL from SSL options.

    Procedure to Setup an FTP Server in Windows 7 :-

    1.Click the windows 7 "Start" button and Click "Control Panel".Click the link labeled "Turn Windows features On or Off" in the "Programs and Features" section of the control panel.

    2.Click the Plus sign next to the "Internet Information Services" icon.This expands a list of options underneath this icon.check box labeled "FTP Server".

    3.Click "OK" to install and set up the FTP Server software.This may take a few minutes to complete.Click the "Finish" button to close the setup wizard window.

    Now you are searching for a how to set up FTP server on your windows 7, then you don't worry you can set up an FTP by following instructions mention bellow step by step and this is a very easy process completed within 3 or 4 minutes..


    • First of all you need to open control panel,
    • After that click on programs.
    • In this you need to observe the windows features on or off.
    • If it is off, then you need to turn on it.
    • After that you will see a new window.
    • In this window you need to find internet information services and mark check on it,
    • And then click ok button.


    After that you need to open IIS manager and under connections, right click on sites and click add FTP site and after that you need to write a name for your FTP site and select the path of folder you want to share and then select the default IP address and select No SSL from SSL options and finally you need to select the authentication settings window, in this you need to select any one and then click on finish button.

    hi,
    so you want to create an ftp server.....
    it is easy method...
    but before that you have to install mozilla firefox browser. In that there is a free add-on on that browser named as "fireftp". You have to install it, this is hardly 500kb file.
