It is possible to take print out in windows 8 but not through the metro app but through the control panel method.

Before you want to take the print out make sure you have the following:
    1.A working and running printer.

2.Latest printer drivers for your printer.

In order to take print out from your computer you first need to configure your computer.

::::Here are the steps you need to follow to configure it::::
    1.Right-click on lower left corner.

    2.Next click on all applications.

3.Now select control panel and under it click on
    Hardware.

    4.Under hard ware select
    view devices & printers.

5.Select your printer by double clicking on it.

Your printer is now configured with your device .

Just click on the option print the page and you can do your all kind of printing.
