HP Laptop running with Windows 7 takes long time to start and stop.

I have a HP Laptop with Windows 7 preinstalled and it has 4GB of memory and 500GB hard disk, core 2 duo processor. Everything works great on my machine but it takes very long time to get started and also to shut down. What can I do to change this behavior? Is there any setting which can help me?

    Hi,

See,this will happen in two cases.

    1) The 1st case can be that you have a lot of data in your laptop and as a result the system is taking time to boot up and shut down.
When you start the machine, the Operating System initializes all the registers and this requires time.
Though you have 2GB RAM but still if the amount of data is too high, the system will take more time to boot up.
Hence you should remove all the unused folders and defragment the space.

    2) The 2nd case can be that this is a virus attack.
Make sure that you scan the laptop and catch hold of all the viruses.
Periodic scanning of the system is very important!
So scan your laptop and the see the difference in the speed!

    Bye!
