Internet connection lost on Windows Vista

Internet connection loses intermittently in my PC running on Windows Vista. For the past six weeks, there is no internet connection on my PC. Even so, I am able to use internet in Safe Mode. What should I do to fix up this issue?

You should first click on ‘Start’ button and then on ‘Network’ option. Then, you should click on ‘Network and Sharing Center’ option. You should then click on ‘Diagnose and Repair’ option in the Network and Sharing Center box. If the issue still persists on your PC, then you should reset Winsock for the Windows Vista. For that, you should first click on the ‘Start’ button and type ‘cmd’ on the search box. Then, you should right click on ‘cmd.exe’ and click on ‘Run as administrator’ option. You should then press ‘Continue’ option and type ‘netsh winsock’ on the command prompt window. You should then press ‘Enter’ key on the keyboard. Then, you should type ‘exit’ on the command prompt and press ‘Enter’ key. Finally, you should then check whether you can access the internet on your PC.

    Hello my friend,

If you are not able to access internet on your windows vista OS.then try to disable/enable the adapter which connects you to the internet.
clear all your browser's cookies and cache.
And at last scan your system for virus, because it may be possible that virus is preventing you to connect to the internet.
Install some good antivirus and scan your complete system.

    1. Remove all floppy disks, CDs, and DVDs from your computer, and then restart your computer.
    2. If your computer has a single operating system installed, press and hold the F8 key as your computer restarts.
3.You need to press F8 before the Windows logo appears. If the Windows logo appears, you will need to try again by waiting until the Windows logon prompt appears, and then shutting down and restarting your computer.lick the Start button, click the arrow next to the Lock button, and then click Restart.
    4. Open Device Manager by clicking the Start button, clicking Control Panel, clicking System and Maintenance, and then clicking Device Manager.* If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
    5. In Device Manager, Select Network Adaptor, and then double-click the device name.
    6. Click the Driver tab, and then click Update Driver and follow the instructions.
You may also try the following steps to resolve the issue:
    1. Click start
    2. Type devmgmt.msc in Start Search

    All The Best!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    3. In Network Adapter locate the wireless network adapter in the list, right click on it and choose properties.
    4. On the last tab, Power Management, uncheck the box for "Allow computer to turn off this device to save power"

You can try Realtek, I know that they have updated some of their drivers as recently as a couple weeks ago, so that may be an option. You can also try this, sometimes it helps.
    1. Right-click “cmd” icon and select “Run as Administrator“. This should launch the command prompt with elevated permisions.
    2. Run the following command to check the enabled offload tasks:
    netsh int ip show offload
    This is what I get->
    Interface 1: Loopback Pseudo-Interface 1
    Interface 11: 192.168.1.69
    ipv4 transmit checksum supported.
    udp transmit checksum supported.
    tcp transmit checksum supported.
    tcp giant send offload supported.
    ipv4 receive checksum supported.
    udp receive checksum supported.
    tcp receive checksum supported.
    3. Run the following command to disable all Task offloads:
netsh int ip set global taskoffload=disabled (This should disable all the offloads)
    4. Disable and Enable the NIC (IMPORTANT)
    5. Check if all Offloads are disabled from an elevated command prompt.
    netsh int ip show offload
If you've done this correctly the results shouldn't show any offloads
    This is what I get->
    Interface 1: Loopback Pseudo-Interface 1
    Interface 11: 192.168.1.69
    6. To reverse this simply
netsh int ip set global taskoffload=enabled (This should re-enable all the offloads)
    7. Disable and Enable the NIC (IMPORTANT)

Just enable/disable your internet adapter so maybe it will show you internet connection again.
If it won't then scan your PC with good antivirus . And check your hardware and system.
Or search typing "Internet and sharing center" in your PC. It will help you in your problem.

In this problem may be either your network signal problem or attacked virus in your system so you have to maintain good software in your pc after scan whole system and remove unwantes files now once re start your system try again .If it is network signal problem you have to usd the 3G network or wi-fi network then there is no issue.

Re: Internet connection lost on Windows Vista

    Hello my friend,

You can easily recover this problem. It's not a big issue. It may occur just because of the wrong settings in the network. You can reset all these. Here, I'm giving you the series of streps, by following these you'll be able to set your connection again.

    These are listed below:

    1. Click on the start button and select the option named "Network".

    2. Now select "Network and Sharing Center" option.

    3. Now, click on "Diagnose and Repair" option in the network and sharing center box.

If the issue still persistes on your PC, then you should reset Winsock for the Windows Vista.

    1. For that, first click on "Start" button and type "cmd" on the search box.

    2. Now, right click on "cmd.exe" and select "Run as Administrator" option.

    3. Now, press continue and type "netsh winsock" on the command prompt window.

    4. Press Enter.

    5. Type "Exit" in cmd prompt and then enter.

Now, check out your connection visibility.

Moreover, you can check the enable/disable adapter options which coonects your PC with the Internet. Here, Clear the complete cookies and cache. Scan your PC, there may be virus. Make it infection free by scanning it with some good antivirus.

Wish you all the very best.

Re: Internet connection lost on Windows Vista

losing an internet connection while you using windows vista can be caused several reasons.one is compatibility issue with the operating system.
    1.compatibility.
    2.connection
    3.modem
DSL and cable modems can be finicky at times and may require you to power cycle.turn off your computer, unplug all the cables from the modem.wait approximately 30 second and plug them back in.this will reset your connection and may fix the issue. your problem is fix and not the bigger issue
    4.bigger issue
broken modems, network adapters or outdoor internet cables may require maintenance or repair from a professional,or you may have to replace them.

    Hello friend,

I have the solution for your problem just do as i say..........................

1.This can be the problem of the server.

2.So try to connect your internet to the another system and then use it.

3.If still you have the problem then it is the problem of the network publisher.

4.If it works fine there then the problem is with your Network Drivers.

5.Make a right click on 'My Computer' and then click on 'Manage'.

6.Then you click on 'Device Manager' and then try to update the Network drivers.

    Have a nice day..............................
