Internet Not working after installing Microsoft Updates in Windows

I have been using Windows Vista in Home PC. I got a message to install Important Microsoft updates in my system. So, I go ahead and installed the updates. Then, i rebooted my system. It worked fine.. But, while I was trying to connect to the internet, its not connecting at all. Then, I checked the modem with my friends Laptop and it worked fine.. So, the problem should be with the Windows... Can somebody help me to sort out this issue??

Re: Internet Not working after installing Microsoft Updates in Windows

    dear::;

When you try to install Windows updates from the Windows Update website, the Microsoft Update website, or by using Automatic Update, you receive a message that the update is not installed successfully. Additionally, the update is not displayed in the update history.

You may experience this issue in the following scenarios:

    Scenario 1

You try to install updates after you repair a Windows XP installation by using the Windows XP CD.

    Scenario 2

You perform the following operations before you try to install Windows updates:
You perform a new installation of Windows XP Service Pack 2 (SP2).
You do not restart the computer.
You go to the Windows Update website, or the Microsoft Update website.

Note When you go to the update website, the latest version of Windows Update software will be installed on your computer.
You install Windows XP Service Pack 3 (SP3).
You try to install Windows updates after the installation of Windows XP SP3.
If you are experiencing other issues related to Windows Update, see the "More Information" section to find appropriate solutions.

    Hi,

Many a time this thing happens. it happens due to a variety of reasons. An incomplete download, defective file download, some patches are themselves a trouble.
It seems you are also in somekind of similar trouble.
If you can recall the update try to remove that going to control panel, goto add or remove programs and select the update and remove it.
    exit and reboot.
If failed try to find the name of the patch and download again from Microsoft official site and install.
Check for the internet settings in windows, under control panel wheather the setup is destroyed or not, setup again if necessary.

    Good luck

    Hi there,
This problem can be caused because of the Driver Update (which is not supported by the hardware properly).
So in order to solve the problem just follow the below steps:
Go to Control Panel\Network and Internet\Network Connections
