Laptop taking long time to boot. Also flashing an error message “Battery needs to be replaced”

My laptop takes a long time to boot. What do you think the reason could be and how can i reduce the boot time? Another problem is with the battery. We got an error saying “Battery needs to be replaced” with a cross mark icon on the taskbar. Does it affect the hardware of the system if the battery is not replaced because we always keep it for charging when in use?

Re: Laptop taking long time to boot. Also flashing an error message “Battery needs to be replaced”

The laptop taking a long time to boot could be due to several reasons. There could be a virus,a corrupted system file, too many junk files, insufficient space on the hard drive,a fragmented hard drive, bad sectors on the hard drive platters and/or errors in the registry. Make sure you take care of the above issues using an antivirus and a PC cleaning suite such as CCleaner.Delete unwanted data and make space, uninstall unwanted software and defragment the hard drive. Lastly, check if your operating system is updated from the internet. Your system should speed up significantly. If not,you will have to backup the data, reformat the laptop and install the operating system all over again. Lastly, you should also consider checking for hardware compatibility and updated drivers because incompatible or older hardware can also lead to a sluggish laptop.
For your query on the battery, usually laptop batteries last for around two years before needing to be changed. If your laptop gives you notifications of the battery not charging and needing to be replaced,it is time you did so.If you have an old laptop, getting an official battery would be difficult. I suggest you either use the laptop with the power adapter or hunt for a replacement for the battery.

    Dear friend,

Laptop can take long time to boot due to the different reasons. Some of them are:

    > Due to longtime use of Windows, there is an accumulation of unnecessary files on the hard drive due to which boot time is increased.
You can clean the files either by manually or use of some freeware utilities such as CCleaner.

    > If your laptop is infected with viruses or malwares, then it can take long time to boot. You should clean your laptop with an updated anti-virus program.

    > The Defragmentation of hard drive is necessary on a regular basis. Due to regular use of hard drive, the files on it get scattered. By defragmenting the
hard disk, the performance of your laptop will be increased.

    > Battery is not a factor causing the slow boot time of laptop. But as the Windows say, you should replace the battery immediately as a precautionary step,
because a damaged battery also damage the laptop components.

    Thanks!
