Lost the storage capacity after making the USB bootable

I was trying to install windows 7 through a bootable USB so i made my 8 GB usb drive bootable. After successfull installation of windows 7,when i formatted the same,it shows only 1GB space.I donít know what happened to rest of 7 GB space.I only know formatting so formatted it many times but still the issue is same. What should i do?

Re: Lost the storage capacity after making the USB bootable

Thanks for posting your query in this forum. Don’t worry, you would be able to use rest of storage space of you USB drive without any issue. All you need to do is to download rufus from http://rufus.akeo.ie/ and install it. After launching this program, you will see a drop down menu. Select your USB drive there and make sure that the “create a bootable disc using...” option is unchecked. In partition scheme, choose “NTFS”. Finally hit the “Start” button. It will take few seconds. After the completion of operation, you would be able to use your USB drive with its full storage capacity.
