    Hello my friend,
    I am assuming that you are making some project using visual basics.
    To connect to the database,you need some database software like oracle or my sql.
    After installing these softwares you need connector,like my sql connector which you can
    easily download from the internet.
    To connect to database and VB you need datastirng,which you can generate easily.
    just follow steps.
    1)Start->control panel->administrative tools
    2)now select the odbc (data sources)
    3)now create user DSN or system DSN,just follow the instruction from wizard.
    4)you can give any name to the DSN.

    ALL THE BEST.
