Media Player turns into sleep mode while playing CD or DVD through PC running on Windows XP

For the past few weeks, I am having trouble in using media player while inserting a CD or DVD into my PC running on Windows XP. The media player will turn into sleep mode while a CD or DVD is in progress. How can I resolve this issue?

Launch the Windows Media Playing troubleshooter on your PC and see whether it resolves the issue. Go to the left corner of the screen and press the ‘Start’ button for that. Once the start menu appears on the screen, choose ‘Control Panel’ option from it. Type Troubleshooter into the search box and click on ‘Troubleshooting’ option. Press the ‘View All’ button afterwards and click the ‘Windows Media Player settings’. If the issue still persists on your PC, then uninstall the Windows Media Player and install it again. Right click on ‘Start’ button for that and choose ‘Programs and Features’ option from the available menu. Go to the left pane afterwards and click the ‘Turn Windows features On or Off’ option. Deselect the checkbox appears next to ‘Windows Media Player’ and press the ‘OK’ button. Then, restart your PC for uninstalling the media player. When your PC boots up again select the checkbox next to ‘Windows Media Player’ and hit the ‘OK’ button. After that, reboot your PC again and check whether the issue still persists on media player.
