Try to install the chipset drivers. Also check if that is detected in Device manager. If you have Dell computer try to install the Richo driver. Also try to uninstall USB controller and then click on scan for hardware changes. It should fix the issue. Also update the Windows 8. That will surely fix the issue.

A number of reasons may be responsible for the problem.

Check the card wheather it itself is damaged or corrupt, run it in another computer to see if it works. If found Okay, then proceed to the next step and check the reader for its fitness.

Run the drive in "Windows 7 Compatibility Center" to check if there are updates available.

Install fresh Driver to your system for complete activities.

    Thank you.

    Dear friend,

It seems that the memory card reader not working properly. You should try another memory card reader with Windows 8 system whether it is working or not. If the other memory card reader is working properly, then you should replace the old memory card reader a new one. There may be also problem with the USB ports of your system. Try to use the motherboard USB ports on the back panel of the CPU box. Generally there is no driver problem with memory card readers. Also, check the memory card with your mobile phone whether it is locked with password or not. The password protected memory card is also not shown in the Windows. To solve this problem, unlock the card through the mobile or the device you have used to lock the card before plugging it in.

    Thanks!

    Hello friend,

I have the solution for your problem just do as i say..............

1.This may be the problem of your card reader or the memory card.

2.So you try to check them by connecting it to the another system too.

3.If they do not work there also then the problem is with both of them.

4.If they work with other system then you check the USB slot of your system.

5.If that is not your problem then the problem is with the USB drivers.

6.So you try to update the USB drivers.

I hope by doing as i said you can solve your problem.

    Have a nice day......

Re: Memory card is not detected in Windows 8

    hello,
it seems that the problem can be in the,
card reader, or the usb slots of your pc, not in your memory card.
to get it checked follow the steps..
    >try to use your card reader in another usb slot and then in another system.
    >if it does not works then the card reader is damaged. Use another to get sure.
    >if all your usb ports are not working then there is some hard ware damage have it checked.
    >windows 8 comes with all basic in built drivers so no driver problem.
    >but if you are using a 3.0 usb port then you need the driver to be installed.

    good luck.
