Microsoft Teredo Tunneling Adaptor has stopped working on Windows 7

When I open up Device Manager on my PC running on Windows 7, I can view yellow exclamation mark against Microsoft Teredo Tunneling Adaptor. The device status under ‘Properties’ also says “This device cannot start”. I am not able to remove that mark even after uninstalling and re-installing the adaptor. How can I make this device to work again?

Get into the start menu after pressing the ‘Start’ button on the bottom part of the desktop. Type regedit into the start search box and press the ‘Enter’ key. You can then see the ‘Registry Editor’ window on the screen. Navigate into HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CURRENTCONTROLSET\SERVIC ES\TCPIP6\PARAMETERS from the left pane of the window. Go to the right pane afterwards and right click on ‘Disabled Components’ option. After selecting the ‘Edit’ option from pop-up menu, set the DWord value into zero. Reboot your PC and check the Teredo Tunneling Adaptor has started up on your system.

    Hi,

To solve your problem you need to take a number of steps one by one.

First Scan the system with an antivirus to find and remove any sceptical element. Try to Uninstall And Reinstall afterwards.

If that process fails, then you need to Edit Registry for a better result.

Click "START", Type "regedit" in search box,"ENTER" ."Registry Editor" window will be displayed on the screen.
    Find "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CURRENTCONTROLSET\SERVI C ES\TCPIP6\PARAMETERS",
    Right click "Disabled Components" option.
Select "Edit" from pop-up menu, set the "DWord value" to 0.
    Reboot,
Teredo Tunneling Adaptor should start now on your system.

    Thanks.
