Re: My Windows 7 Aero interface is disabled

Sometimes these problems do happen in Windows 7 the reason behind it maybe the Aero theme failed running because it is not able to process the graphics or some settings of it got changed automatically or probably by some virus. Now to fix this issue you can check with the below points,

Do a Windows search for “Find and fix problems with transparency” and open the options which appears in the search and follow the steps given to fix the issue.
If still the problem persists then you can check out with the following steps where you have to check if the aero theme is enabled or disabled from registry.
STEP 1: Open registry from start or simply press windows key + R and type “regedit”
    STEP 2: Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USERS\Software\Microsoft\Windows\DWM
STEP 3: Check if EnableAeroPeek value is set to 1. If it’s not then change it to 1 and reboot the machine.
Now after following the above steps you should get back the Aero theme working.
NOTE: Windows 7 Basic don’t have the access to Aero themes. It is disabled in Basic until you upgrade to different version of Windows 7.

    Follow these steps:

    1. Now, on the desktop, right-click and select "Personalize".
    2. Click on "Theme".
    3. A window will appear, with a list of available themes in a drop-down menu, with corresponding illustrations below.
    4. The setting should be on "Vista Basic" as default.
    5. In the drop-down menu there is an option for "Windows Aero"
    6. Click it, then select Apply then OK and you're computer will be configured to Windows Vista Aero.
    7. If you have already done all of this and aero still isn't working. Make sure your video card setting is at 32 bit.
    8. If not you will not be able to use the aero features. You can change this under display settings in the personalization menu.
