    HIE FRIEND,

    1) Firstly check that is this problem is effected to only 1 video or not
    2) If with only 1 then the video format is not good
    3) If it is happening to many videos then the defect is in the windows media player
    4) Then you should uninstall the windows media player
    5) And instal the new version of windows player and start using it

    THANK U

Re: Windows 8 System not playing DVD in Windows Media Player 12

    Hello Dear,

Here the problem is Windows media player will not support all the formats of files.

Check the DVD weather it is working fine or not in another Player.

If working, then you need to use other player to browse the DVD.

i.e, DVD contains the files format which does not support to Media player.

That's it, your problem is solved.

    Thank You.

Re: Windows 8 System not playing DVD in Windows Media Player 12

If the windows media player is not playing the video on the CD then it may be possible that the format of that video is not supported by the player....

If windows media player is not playing only that video then surely the problem is with the format of the video ..

But if windows media player is not able to play any video then problem is with the windows media player...

In that case you need to reinstall the existing windows media player..

And if you want to change the format of the video then you can download the video converter application from the net and install that properly..

Some Video Format are not applicable with window Media Player

All this can be covered by VLC Player.

So download the VLC Media Player.

And install it to your System.

You can do it from Format Factory.

Convert your File which are supported by media player

And player that file in media player.

You can also do with Format Factory.

Re: Windows 8 System not playing DVD in Windows Media Player 12

    Hello friend,

I have the solution for your problem just do as i say...........................

1.Windows Media Player 12 will not support all type of formats.

2.It will supports only limited formats.

3.So check the format of the file in your DVD is compatible or not.

4.If it is compatible but still have the problem then this can be the problem Windows Media Player 12.

5.So you uninstall it and then go to the website 'http://www.filehippo.com'.

6.From there you download it and then install it.

Re: Windows 8 System not playing DVD in Windows Media Player 12

    Hi,

Is the DVD drive sensing, are there any sound of initialization? Any movement inside ?

If it is not at all responding, then it might be physical problem for the drive. Need to check the power connection and data connection by opening the bay.

If sense is there you might be needed to reinstall the Device Driver for DVD/CD Drive in Windows 8.

Is any other Media Player working? You may try to install another program to check if there is any issue with the WMP12.

    Thanks.

Re: Windows 8 System not playing DVD in Windows Media Player 12

HI, my dear friend.........the windows media player shows the error...... when the file type is unsupported

And if you come across a video file type that is not supported by Windows Media Player 12 you will receive two notifications like these

    Attachment 7882 Attachment 7883

Windows Media Player 12 will let you know that it does not recognize the file extension and will ask you if you d like to try to play it anyway.

If you click Yes Windows Media Player 12 will try to play it anyway.

If it is a case where a supported file type was simply renamed incorrectly it might play But chances are you will get a message stating that Windows Media Player cannot play the file.

The Player might not support the file type or might not support the codec that was used to compress the file In either case the solution is to install the right codec

then Click Close to dismiss the window and move on to the next step

    ALL THE BEST......!!!!!!!
