sometime certain failure causes driver not responding... thats why you are not able to hear sound... you need a simple troubleshooting for this issue.. windows 7 comes with a troubleshooting future that can solve many of your problems without taking headache juz follow these steps:-
1) go to control panel.
2) on the top right corner you will see view by- switch this to large icon view (this is for easy accessibility).
3) now scroll down and select Troubleshooting from the list.
4) now click on hardware and sound,
5) from the menu appear click Playing sound.
6) now a troubleshoot menu appear click next. (there will be a option ADVANCE click on that first and select apply repair as admin)
7) now wait till the windows repair your driver..

this is the simple step if this will not work then surely you have to follow the above SUPPORT'S comment......

Follow these Simple Steps.

STEP 1: Go to Lenovo Support Page and enter your Model Number.
STEP 2: Download your Audio Driver and extract it.
STEP 3: Open Device Manager.
STEP 4: Right - Click on the Current Audio Device Driver and update it.
STEP 5: Go to Driver Software from My Computer.
STEP 6: From the list, select the latest extracted Device Driver.
STEP 7: Allow it for Installation.
STEP 8: Your Problem is Solved and you can hear Sound without any Problem.

Not able to hear Sound from Lenovo N100 with Windows 7

I installed Windows 7 in my Lenovo N100. Initially there was no problem with it. But, now I am unable to hear Sound coming out from that. I do not know the Problem. Please, help me in Solving the Problem.
