You proceed with installing Windows 8 RP
before this you need to do the following things

See if your laptop can run Window 8

your Processor should be more than 1Ghz
Ram should be more than 1GB for 32 Bit OS and 2GB for 64Bit OS
Hard Disk should be more than 16 GB for 32 Bit and 20 GB for 64 Bit OS

For checking all these windows has Upgrade Assistant.. try it

make sure all your private data is moved from OS drive to other drives

    All the best

yes my friend there is no risk of installing another OS in your window 7 OS
as both are the Microsoft product
make sure your configuration is compatible for installing Win 8

while installing install it in another drive so that you can log in any window of your need
that is window 7 or Eight

using virtual box you can run Win 8 in 7 too
now you can install the advance versions of window 8

    Dear Friend..

First of all see that your laptop meets the requirement to install windows 8

    and check the compatibility .

You can install the Release preview of windows 8 with out any issues

if you meet the requirements .

You can just upgrade your current OS to
    windows 8 .

make sure that your internet connection is enabled .

and once you are upgraded you cannot again degrade to
    windows 7

you need to completely format it and reinstall again.

it will be secure only , but check the compatibility of the third party softwares

    with the
    windows 8 and install them.

    Thank you...

There are the standard risk involved in this installation like other software installations.

No additional risk is involved in this installation.

Do you have the Windows7 active in your system as OS ? You said so, Windows 8 is not as resource hungry as Windows7 and under that scenerio, Windows 8 will be installed without any disturbence.

Only thing you must keep in mind is " Windows 8 RP " can be installed over Windows7, but if you want to revert the OS to Windows7 after a while , that will be impossible. and you will be needing to format the drive and install the Windows7 from the Installer Diskette again.

Re: Is there any risk to install windows 8 release preview in my laptop in which windows 7 is currently installed?

Dear friend there is no such risk and also the windows release previe shall be supported by your system since your system has windows 7 already installed.

The minimum system requirements of the both the windows is same.

So you need not to be panic about it for installing the windows 8 release preview.

But one thing you must remember that windows release preview will work for a 30 days only.

After this you need to install fresh windows pro versio.

Re: Is there any risk to install windows 8 release preview in my laptop in which windows 7 is currently installed?

    Hi,
As per your que i will tell you that there is not any risk in installing the window 8...in the computer which has Window 7 installed in it..
But before installing the window 8 in your system i will suggest you to have the min. requirement ..

    • 1 GHz or faster 32-bit (x86) or 64-bit (x64) processor
    • 1 GB RAM (32-bit) or 2 GB RAM (64-bit)
    • 16 GB available hard disk space (32-bit) or 20 GB (64-bit)
    • DirectX 9 graphics device with WDDM 1.0 or higher driver
    • Taking advantage of touch input requires a screen that supports multi-touch

If you have the min. conf. for the window 8, you can install the it in your system...without any risk..

Hope you have got your answer...

    • There is no problem to use windows 8 release preview because it was launched by Microsoft.
    • They launched in order to learn their hands with new features.
    • Do this install in other drive and keep two OS in your lap.
    • The full version will gonna release soon.
    • Mostly windows 8 Beta is likely to launch first.

There is no problem in installing the windows 8 release preview in your computer.

Windows 8 RP is the preview about the release of windows 8.It is launched to get the thoughts of customer on the windows 8.

It is more or like the real windows 8 with only a little bit variations.

You can install windows 8 RP in two ways:
    • Complete and clean installation.
    • Installation along side windows 7
For complete installation you will have uninstall windows 7.

For along side installation you have to use the dual boot operation.

    Hello,

If you want to ry the new windows 8.

Than feel free to do that.

Because installing the new windows 8 on your computer will not jeopradise your data.

If you want you can dual boot your system, in which you can have both windows 7 and windows 8 installed.

To do that make sure that while installing the windows 8 in your system you install it in the different drive and not in the one in which you have your windows 7 installed.

So you need another drive to install windows 8.

Thats all is required and the new windows 8 is safe and secure so dont worry.

    dear friend,

There is no risk in installing windows 8.

You may install windows 8 release preview version after uninstalling windows 7 or over it.

Or you may set a different drive to install windows 8 release preview in this new drive.

By doing this you'll get dual boot option at the time of start up.

You have to choose the version of windows that you want to run.

Re: Is there any risk to install windows 8 release preview in my laptop in which windows 7 is currently installed?

UP grading and installing windows are two different task.

Up grading means you want to install new windows version over your previous version . In this way, your previous directory , files & programs , apps will
remain intact , no data will be lost.

If you are installing new windows , and also intend to keep already installed version in the PC, then you have to make separate drive for windows.
You can use Disk defragmentor for that purpose .

Windows 8 preview requirement is 1 GB RAM and 16 GB hard disk, so make a partition of atleast 20 GB from your HDD.

After installing new copy of windows, you will have two OS in your PC , you can use either of them.

    My dear friend,
There is no such risk in installing windows 8 RP.
But I would like to give you a suggestion, try to install the windows 8 in different drive other than windows 7.
By doing this you will get dual boot option.and you select which OS you want to login.
This is completly safe but make sure that you have proper hardware configurations to install windows 8.
    All the best.
