    Hi,

The problem of VLC Media player suddenly has no sound, checked the audio mixer? it may be set to mute ,
To unmute try the following :

At the bottom right in the startbar near your clock, there’s a small speaker icon:

Double-click it > Click on ‘Mixer’ > If you have VLC media player running, it should show up in the mixer > "Unmute" VLC Media player.
    close to exit.

You should get back sound again!
    Enjoy the movie!

    Thanks.

    Hi.
    Follow the below methods:
    Method 1:
Run the audio troubleshooter and check.
    >>Open the Playing Audio troubleshooter by clicking the Start button, and then clicking Control Panel. In the search box, type troubleshooter, and then click Troubleshooting. Under Hardware and Sound, click Troubleshoot audio playback.* If you're prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

    Method 2:
Perform the following steps and check if that helps.

    >>Click the Start Button, type "MMSYS.CPL" (without quotation marks) in the Start Search box and press Enter.
    >>On Playback tab, click the Speaker which is used currently and click Properties button.
    >>Switch to Advanced tab, uncheck the "Allow applications to take exclusive control of this device" option.
    >>If the Enhancements tab is available, click it. Check 'Disable all sound effects".
    >>In Setting section, Select None.
    >>Click Apply and click OK.

    Thank you.

    Dear Friend!!
If there is some compatibility problem then you can directly check it by right clicking on the shortcut of your player.
    Then click Troubleshoot compatibility.
Thos will Auto check the problems persisting on the player.
If you wish to uninstall those latest updates,go to computer, click change/uninstall and in the left, click "view installed updates" and uninstall some latest updates.

    Hello !!

i dont think that updating your windows will leads to any issue in your VLC,especially to sound.
so it is better for you to check your VLC sound settings.
and restore it to default settings.

or,this can also happen that due to updating some of the plugin present in VLC might not be working so try to update your VLC,
and everthing will be working fine as it was previous.

    hopw this will help you.

    Hi,

You must check the places where there is a VOLUME CONTROL option found, for a MUTE option being selected by the update recently installed.

At the right hand corner of the TASKBAR in the notification area if you found a speaker symbol click on it to check if MUTE is selected, if yes, UNSELECT.

Get in to Start>ControlPanel>Hardware and Sound>Sound and here check the options if MUTE is selected anywhere.

If all of those fails, Go to ControlPanel>Hardware and Sound>Device Manager>Sound.....>Driver>Update Driver to install a new Audio Device Driver for the windows.

This should solve the issue, if the VLC or the audio section is not physically damaged.

    Thanks.
