    Not able to find the DVD Drive in Windows 7

    I am unable to view the DVD Driver, but I can find it in BIOS. I really do not understand the real problem. How can I get rid from this problem. If I need to find the DVD Drive, how can I find it. Please help me to solve the problem.

    You can solve your Problem by following Simple Steps.

    STEP 1: Click on the ‘Start’ Button and type’ Run’ and hit Enter.
    STEP 2: Type ‘regedit’ in the run and hit Enter.
    STEP 3: Go to the registry
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

    STEP 4: In the right pane, you can find the Upper Filters and Lower Filters.
    STEP 5: Go for ‘Edit’ and select the Option ‘Delete.
    STEP 6: It asks for Confirmation and Confirm it.
    STEP 7: You can ignore ‘upperfilter.bak’ and ‘lowerfilter.bak’.

    Hi,

    You can try two possible ways to verify the status of your DVD drive.

    Check the drive connector inside the CPU for any slag or damage of the connector. Disconnect the connector and then connect fully and try to find if anything new happens.

    Check the power cable for any defect or loose fitting if any.

    Edit the registry if both of above are in good shape and found no fault, which should be done by exparts only else the whole system will be in mess.

    Hello friend,


    I have the solution for your problem do as i say.

    Firstly go to the start menu and now go to Accessories Now you click on the
    option "RUN". Now in the run option type" regedit" and then click OK. If it ask
    for any password type the password you like or click on the option ''Allow''.
    There you locate and click on:-
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\currentcontrolset\contro l\class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}.

    Now click on the option upper filters.
    On the edit menu click Delete. Then you click yes.
    In the lower filters also you do the same by clicking on edit and then delete.
    Now restart your computer.

    1. Click Start, and then click All Programs.
    2. Click Accessories, and then click Run.
    3. Type regedit, and then click OK.
    4. If you are prompted for an administrator password or for a confirmation, type the password, or click Allow.
    5. In the navigation pane, locate and then click the following registry subkey:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
    6. In the right pane, click UpperFilters.
    7. On the Edit menu, click Delete.
    8. When you are prompted to confirm the deletion, click Yes.
    9. In the right pane, click LowerFilters.
    10. On the Edit menu, click Delete.
    11.When you are prompted to confirm the deletion, click Yes.
    12. Exit Registry Editor.
    13. Restart the computer.

    Windows XP

    1. Click Start, and then click Run.
    2. In the Open box, type regedit, and then click OK.
    3. In the navigation pane, locate and then click the following registry subkey:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
    4. In the right pane, click UpperFilters.
    5. On the Edit menu, click Delete.
    6. When you are prompted to confirm the deletion, click Yes.
    7. In the right pane, click LowerFilters.
    8. On the Edit menu, click Delete.
    9. When you are prompted to confirm the deletion, click Yes.
    10. Exit Registry Editor.
    11. Restart the computer
