Not able to find imaging device icon and wording in Device Manager on Windows Vista Ultimate

My PC is currently running on Windows Vista and it does not show imaging device icon and wording in device manager. Therefore, I am getting the error message “Windows could not load the installer for. Contact your hardware vendor for assistance” while connecting the image device with it. How to restore the icon and wording?

As a first step, you need to save Windows Installer Cleanup Utility package on your PC. Then, right click on Windows Installer Cleanup Utility and select ‘Run as Administrator’ option from the available menu. Follow the instructions shown by installation wizard and click on the ‘Start’ button once you finish the installation. Click on the ‘All Programs’ option afterwards and select ‘Windows Install Clean Up Utility’ option. Then, navigate through the program list and click on ‘Device Driver’ option. The next step required is click on ‘Remove’ and ‘OK’ button one after the other. After that, click on the ‘Exit’ button and restart the PC.
