Not able to open Hyperlinks in e-mails received through Windows Mail on Windows Vista

It is not possible to click and open the hyperlinks received via Windows Mail on my system running on Windows Vista. If I want to browse that link, I need to copy it and paste into browser before pressing the ‘Enter’ key. I am using Internet Explorer 8 with my system. How can I overcome this situation?

As a first step, click the ‘Start’ button and select ‘Default Programs’ from the start menu. Then, hit ‘Set your default programs’ option and make a single click on ‘Internet Explorer’ option. After that, check whether it says “This program has all its defaults”. If not, locate ‘Choose defaults for this program’ option and click on it once. Select the checkbox next to all entries available in the list pop up on the screen. After that, make a single press on ‘Save’ button. In case the internet explorer has all defaults, then click the ‘Window Mail’ option and repeat the steps mentioned earlier.
