Not able to remove the Homegroup Icon in windows 7

I am a windows 7 user. I am not complaining about any error message because it has worked exceptionally well for me. However, Homegroup Icon has appeared on my desktop which is quite irritating for me. I tried to delete or move it but failed. Is there any way to get rid of this?

You can do that by modifying the registry. However, modification of registry without any guidance can lead to severe damage so you must take a backup before modifying the registry. If you don't know the method of backing up the registry, Follow the link -http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Back-up-the-registry. Once done, Press "Windows Key+R". It will open the "Run Command" box. Type "Regedit" in the text box and Hit the enter button on your keyboard. It will open the Registry Editor screen. Now, Navigate to "Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFWARE\Microsoft\Win dows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Desktop\NameSpace\". Find the folder, Which is named as "{B4FB3F98-C1EA-428d-A78A-D1F5659CBA93}" and delete it. Once done, Refresh the desktop. Homegroup Icon will disappear.

You can do that simply by enhancing the actual registry. Having said that, changes regarding windows registry with no assistance may result in extreme damage so that you need to take a back up previous to enhancing the actual registry. Unless you find out the technique regarding copying the actual windows registry, Stick to the weblink -http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Back-up-the-registry. One time completed, Push "Home windows Key+R ".It will wide open the actual "Function Receive" box. Type "Regedit" around the written text pack and also Struck the actual enter into option with your keyboard. It will wide open the actual Registry Editor screen. Currently, Understand to be able to "Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFWARE\Microsoft \Win dows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Desktop\NameSpace\ ".Obtain the file, Which in turn is known as since "B4FB3F98-C1EA-428d-A78A-D1F5659CBA93" and also get rid of it. One time completed, Replenish the actual desktop. Homegroup Image is going to disappear.
