Re: Not able to use the option Windows Help and Support on XP

just press F1 in order to open the HELP AND SUPPORT tab.
To resolve the problem, you may try copying the merged.hhk file from another system running the same version of Windows XP.

If that does not help, try rebuilding the Help and Support as advised in this article:

Reinstalling Help and Support Center in Windows XP

This restores the merged.hhk file to C:\Windows\PCHealth\Helpctr\Indices folder.
    Hope this will help...

To resolve this issue, you must modify the registry. To do this, follow these steps:
    1. Click Start, click Run, type Regedit, and then click OK.
    2. Locate the following registry subkey:

      HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\App Paths\HELPCTR.EXE

If this registry subkey does not exist, right-click the following registry subkey, click New, click Key, type HELPCTR.EXE, and then press ENTER:

      HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\App Paths

    3. In the left pane, click HELPCTR.EXE, in the right pane, right-click (Default), click Modify, in the Value data box, typeC:\WINDOWS\PCHealth\HelpCtr\Binaries\HelpCtr.exe, and then click OK.
    4. Quit Registry Editor, and then restart your computer.
    or try................

Log on to your computer as Administrator

    2/ Click Start button

3/ In the Start menu click Run

4/ In the Run dialogue box type %systemroot%\inf and click OK

5/ In the list of files that appear look for the PCHEALTH.inf file

6/ Right Click on this file and, from the drop down menu, select Install

7/ The Windows Help and Support Feature should now reinstall
