You can easily assign a static IP for your local area connection on your windows computer. You can follow the below mentioned steps to get this done. First, you need to click on the start menu and open up control panel. In control panel there will be an option called Network and Sharing Center. When you click on Network and Sharing center, you will find an option called as Change adapter settings on the left pane. There you will find LAN icon there. Then you need to Right click on LAN and click on properties. In the list of options that pop up, you need to choose Internet Protocol Version 4(TCP/IPv4). Then in the consequent window, you can choose the option, use the following address and give in the desired IP address for the computer.

    Hello,

Yes you can assign the static IP to your computer on a LAN network.

Open the network and adapter settings.

Now click on the adapter settings

Right click on the LAN icon.

Out of those options select the IP/v4

Now in that put the ip address of your computer which you want for your computer.

Make sure that you uncheck the button where it says auto assign the ip

By this your computer will have a static ip.

    -Regards

    Hello my friend,

Yes it is possible to assign IP addresses manually which are static.
But by doing so you may not be able to access internet because most of the ISP provider assigns dynamic IPs.
Static IP addresses are useful when you are using internet Via proxy or NAT.
To assign static Ip addresses follow these steps:->
    1)start->control panel->network and sharing centr
    2)change adapter settings
3)right click on the adapter and select properties
    4)tcp/ip(ipv4)
5)NOw enter the ip address you want to use.

    ALL THE BEST.
