Is it possible to deactivate control panel via Group Policy Editor on Acer laptop with Windows 8?

My Acer laptop with Windows 8 is working on a shared network and I wish to deactivate the control panel in the laptop so as to assure better safety of the system. My friend told that it is possible via Group Policy Editor. Is it possible to do so?

The ‘Local Computer Policy Editor’ item has to be first of all traced on your system. Followed by that, you can tap and choose the ‘User Configuration’ option. Then the ‘Administrative Templates’ must be selected to reach the ‘Control Panel’ option. The label, ‘Prohibit access to Control Panel and PC settings’ is supposed to be chosen then. There you will be able to see an ‘enable’ option with a checkbox. You have to mark the checkbox of that option now. Finally the ‘ok’ option must be selected to save the settings changes.
