Is it possible to lock the Windows partition in my laptop so that no one will use it for other purpose as like copying files and so on?

My laptop is shared with many people and I have faced issues so many times of Windows getting crashed just because some important files are missing and so on. So I wanted to know if it is like possible to lock the Windows partition by some means? so that no one will open it. Is there anyway to restrict access for the Windows partition? Can you tell me how to do it?

    Hiiiiiiii
to keep secure your files from your friends you can lock your local harddisk follow the steps
1)type gpedit.msc in Run,Click on the "+" button beside User Configuration then click on the "+" button beside "Administrative Templates". Then click the "+" button beside "Windows Components" and then click "Windows Explorer".
2)search forHide the specified drives in computer and open it and choose the drive(s) you want to hide.
3)search for Prevent access to drives from computer.and the repeat the same process and type your desired local disk after your restart the settings are applied
    Thanks and Regards

NOT giving permissions to access is the best way.you can do this by following steps:-

-simply right click your drive,go to properties\security tab and select edit then go to add ,
-now enter your username already created by you then click OK,
-here is this dialogue box with the username highlighted you can either edit permissions or you can simply tick deny where deny will override any other permission.

-click OK and you get "The files permissions will now be updated. This may take some time."

    now your drive is secure

    hii

Its really simple thing to do as if you want to restrict access for the windows partition then you have to follow some simple steps for this ..

These steps are given below ..:

    - Just go to your partitions property by right clicking the partition
    - Next go to settings and then to advanced
    - In advanced click on add and enter there the username of the user which you want to restrict to access your partitions
    - Now click on full control and deny the full control ..
    - At last click ok and you are done..

Restart your computer to make the changes come into effect...

    thanks

    dear friend,

You can secure any drive in your computer in various way.

You can entirely hide the C drive or you can create a password protection.

    To Hide hard drive-
    • Right click on the computer & select Manage.
    • Provide administrator password if prompted.
    • Computer management window will appear-click on the Disc Management under Storage option from the left pane.
    • You'll see all your hard drive partitions in the right pane.
    • Right click on the particular drive you want to hide & click on Change Drive Letter & paths option.
    • Select the drive-click on Remove option & press OK.
Now exit the window & you'll see the drive has been hidden.

To make it visible, proceed same way & select the Add option from the list.

To make a hard drive password protected-

You need a third party software to make any hard drive password protected. Windows doesn't provide this kind of feature by default. Search for Partition Wizard Home or TrueCrypt application and install after downloading. Then launch the software & follow the steps to make any drive password protected. You can set the administrator password or any different password to lock the hard drive.
