Yes, it is possible to do it just by installing a 3rd party application in Windows, the best of all applications available to attain this type of need which you want i.e to shutdown at particular time after the download or so then you can go for Shutdown Monster. Just follow the steps given below to shutdown your PC on a fixed time,

STEP 1: Download the 3rd party application which is called as Shutdown Monster from internet CLICK HERE!!
STEP 2: Install it to your PC in your desired location and open the application.

STEP 3: Now in the first tab which is consists of the calendar you can set the time for shutdown for the present day or for any day from the calendar. So if you feel like that in midnight you have to shutdown your PC then probably you can give that time for shutdown and press Set to Save it.

STEP 4: You can check the other tabs also for different options which are available to shutdown the PC available, one such tab which might help for your reason is File tab where you can select the file which is currently get downloaded, as you know when certain files is getting downloaded it will have some other name first say file.part, so you can select the file and so once the file get disappears after the download is over the system will shutdown automatically.

STEP 5: You can select the check time and press Set to save the configuration. In the same way with the other options.

Try it yourself and save some energy from your side by switching off your PC on the correct time but not keeping it idle.

Hello you can schedule an automatic shut down on your computer with out installing any software on your computer.

Here are the steps you need to follow:
    1. First create a shortcut for the automatic shutdown by following steps:
    2. Right click on your desktop and select New,in the new click on the Shortcut.
    3. Write "shutdown.exe -s -t time"(without quotes) in the text field available in new shortcut window.

    5. Click next and give a name to the short cut.
    6. Click “Finish” that’s it.
Now just double click on the newly created short cut to activate the automatic shut down

    Hello,

Friend yes it is possible to shut down your computer automatically after sometime.

For that you will need a third party software.

    Its called Shutdown Timer.

    http://simple-shutdown-timer.en.softonic.com/

Click on the above link to download this software.

You just have to run this application and then set the time at which you want to shut down your computer.

It will automatically shut your computer down.

You can do it with the help of some third party softwares or there is an another inbuilt method in windows which I generally prefer more.

There is a command in windows for cmd, which enables you to shut down your PC after a stipulated time say after 50 min or 5 hrs etc.
So, regarding your issue, while downloading file , it also shows how much time it will take to complete the file. So, according to this , you can set
    shut down time.

    How to do this :->

Right click on the desktop. Select New Shortcut.
A New Shortcut dialog box will appear like this :

As you can see " shutdown.exe -s -f -t 21600" here 21600 represent the time in seconds for shutdown.

After you have completed this wizard. A shortcut will appear on Desktop. When you will click it , it will activate the timer for shutdown.

    hello . . .

Yes it is possible to shut down a PC automatically indeed . .

    Step 1

Start >> Program >> Accessories >> System Tools >> Scheduled Tasks

    Step 2

Click File >> New >> Sheduled Task

Now give whatever name you want to give to your schedule task

    then ;

    Step 3

Now "Double Click" or "right click" on newly created scheduled task and goto its "Properties".

It will then show new window.

It has three TABs. Look for "TASK" tab which is the first one.

    Step 4

Now Schedule tab, we have to set the time and frequency.

Set daily under Scheduled Tasks and set the wanted time under Start Time.

that's it ....the PC will be automatically shut down !!

    Good Luck . . .!!

Follow the given below steps :-
STEP 1 :- Open command prompt (click "start" -> "All Programs" -> "Accessories" -> "command prompt")
STEP 2 :- type following instruction "shutdown -s -t (time)" -------------- where write instruction without inverted commas and in place of (time) write 3600 or any digit in sec after which you want to shutdown automatically.
STEP 3 :- Press enter and now your time just started.

for instance you just think that you've done wrong in interpreting the time then you can abort it, by typing below instruction without inverted commas:-
    "shutdown -a"

And now your system will restore again and not shutdown itself.

That's the easiest way to do and just follow step by steps and you get your answer.....bye

    hi there,

You can follow the easy procedure to do so :

    * go to RUN (by pressing WINDOW + R)
    * type CMD and press OK
    * type the command in the command prompt window : SHUTDOWN -S -T (YOUR DESIRED TIME in seconds)
    eg.
if i want to shut down my PC in 10 minutes, I would write the command as "shutdown -s -t 600"

NOTE: IN the above command, you are using -s and -t "switches". There are more switches available for the command "shutdown".

    The available switches are :

-i: Display GUI interface, must be the first option
-l: Log off (cannot be used with -m option)
    -s: Shutdown the computer
-r: Shutdown and restart the computer
    -a: Abort a system shutdown
    -m \\computername: Remote computer to shutdown/restart/abort
-t xx: Set timeout for shutdown to xx seconds
-c “comment”: Shutdown comment (maximum of 127 characters)
-f: Forces running applications to close without warning

    Hope you got the point.!!

    Dear,
Yes this is possible to shut down your Computer at the seted time. For this you need to download a 3 party software known as Turnoff master or shutdown Master. After downloading this you have to install the Software and have to set the time to turn off computer. If you like to to turn off the computer at the mid night then you can set the time for shutdown of the computer. And there are more many features of that turnoff Master Software. So you can use the software.

Yea you can shut down your PC once the download is over.
You need to download and install Internet download manager from the internet.
Once you install it, every download will be automatically done in that.
It will be fast and efficient, and so your download time gets reduces and also you can shut down your PC once your download is over.
There is a check box at the bottom says Shut down when download completes check that check box.

hi my dear friend.......there is a ways to shutdown the pc after some time

    1. by using the third party softwate

    2. and another one is by creating the short cut option

    3. we can also use the task sheduler to shut down the pc

NOW Im going to explain 2nd step:

first right click on the empty desktop and select new and click on the shortcut

then a window will be displayed ......in that type shutdown -s -t 30 ( here the 30 indicates the time in terms of seconds only)

after click next ......and in the next step named it as shutdown.exe and click next

then your shutdown short cut is ready to use

then click on the short cut ...then the count down will starts......

NOTE: there you enter the time in terms of seconds only.....in place of 30 you can set any time

and you can try this as a run command also

just type the same in run box and press enter .....then also it works...........ALL THE BEST
