Re: Power option has stopped to work on Windows XP

    Dear ,

There is no default option for shutting down the computer after a specific time-frame in Power Options. You can put the laptop
in hibernation mode wherein it actually shuts down and does not use any power. However, before doing so, it saves all the current
settings to a special file on the hard drive. That way, when you power the computer back up by pressing the power button, you will
be returned more quickly to the desktop exactly as you left it.

However, there is another way of doing it. You can schedule a task for automatic shutdown. Here is the link on how to schedule a
    task for automatic shutdown.

If you want to put the computer in hibernation mode, click Start>>Control panel>> select 'Switch to Classic View' and select
"Power Options">> go to 'Hibernate' tab>> check the box ' Enable hibernation'. Hereafter, select 'Power Schemes' tab. Choose
the options to suit your needs. Please ensure that the hibernation time is less than your battery time. Otherwise, your battery
will drain before the option can kick in. Refer to the images: Power options, Power Schemes

    Hope this helps.

If the windows is displaying error message regarding power management problem,

You cant set options in the computer which are manipulated through Power Options.

You need to repair the Windows XP using the Windows XP installer disk,

Put it inside the optical drive, boot from it, from the options, select REPAIR......., windows will self repair where it is required,

once that is finished , will prompt you to remove the disk, and boot normally.

Backup data and files which are important, they will not be harmed but in case....

    Hi.
You can also use simple shortcut
Windows Key (referred to later in this tip as WIN). Look at the bottom row of your keyboard. See that key with the Windows logo between CTRL andALT That's the WIN key.So, here is the XP shortcut:
    Shutdown: WIN, U, U

    thank you.

    Hello friend,

I have the solution for your problem just do as i say............

1.Firstly close all the tabs and then you try to change the power scheme.

2.If the media player is running at that time it will not allow you to change the power settings.

3.If above case is not your problem then your problem will be following.

4.Some of your system OS files may be corrupted or deleted accidentally so you are facing this problem.

5.So you insert the Window OS CD in your computer and restart your computer.

6.While staring repair your computer using this Windows CD.

7.Now your problem will be solved.

    Have a nice day...................
