Procedures for re-enabling speakers with Sound Control Panel on Windows Vista

Yesterday, I have disabled speakers with my laptop running on Windows Vista by changing the settings in Sound Control Panel. When I returned to the panel for enabling the speakers again, I found they are not listed in the settings. What else should I do to enable them?

Once you get into the desktop, you can find speaker icon on the task bar next to the clock. Right click on that icon until a menu pop up on the screen. Navigate through that menu afterwards and click the ‘Playback Devices’ option. You can then find a white area inside the box appears on the screen. Right click on that area and click the ‘Show disabled and disconnected devices’ option. Make sure that a tick mark appears next to this option and highlight the speaker. Go to the lower right part of the box afterwards and press the ‘Properties’ button. After that, check whether the ‘Device Usage’ option is enabled. You can also change the configuration by hitting the ‘Configure’ button after selecting speakers.
