    Run option is not present in Windows XP

    I have Windows XP operating system in desktop pc. Generally I use run for opening most of the files and applications as this provides easiness to me. But today when I want to open run by pressing windows button + R then it won’t open. So please tell me how to solve this problem.

    Hello Friend,
    To run (Run) program on your windows xp follow these steps-

    STEP 1-Go to the desktop click on start
    STEP 2-After clicking on start point to settings then click on Taskbar & Start Menu.
    STEP 3-Click on advance then select run option and it is available in your start up menu
    (Run) from your start or if then also it is not running it means your system contain virus either install a new antivirus or format your system

    Try this now

    Hi, Dear friend

    And to get the solution for the above issue.......simply execute the below.

    Go to start menu and click the RUN

    Now type gpedit.msc and click OK

    Then click on USER CONFIGURATION from the middle pane


    Then scroll down and open the WINDOWS EXPLORER folder

    Now find TURN OFF WINDOWS+X HOT KEYS option and double click on it

    Then choose the DISABLED or NOT CONFIGURE option and click the OK button

    After that your problem will be resolved

    Hi Friend,

    There is due to following reasons,
    >> that is disabled from policy,
    >> may be registry is missing or damaged due to virus.

    So, follow this steps to solve this issue...

    Open a Command prompt.
    And Type,
    REG ADD "HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Po licies\Explorer" /v NoRun /t REG_DWORD /d 0
    And Press Enter,

    then type again
    REG ADD "HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Po licies\Explorer" /v NoRun /t REG_DWORD /d 0
    And Press Enter,
    Type Exit and press Enter.

    Restart PC
    after you can try to open Run.

    METHOD 1

    Open Windows Explorer by pressing Windowskey + e

    Now Navigate to path Below :-

    Now in search for gpedit.msc file

    When found Double click on it to open it

    Now it open Group Policy Editor

    In left Panel Click on user configuration

    Now in sub-Menu click on Administrative

    Then click on Templates

    Now Click on Start Menu

    Now click on Taskbar

    NOw Double click on Remove Run from Start Menu

    Click on RadioBox Not Configured

    METHOD 2

    Click on Start

    Then click on Run

    It opens Run Dialog Box

    Type regedit and Hit Enter

    Now Navigate to "HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersio n\Po licies\Explorer"

    Now see the entry for NoRun is set to 0

    Now Navigate to "HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Pol icies\Explorer"

    Now see entry for Disallow is set to 0 if not then set it to 0

    Its Done

    >> Sometimes the virus effect on the operating system and hide some option.

    >> so you need to remove virus from the system.

    >> If Run option is displayed in the start menu then you can use shortcut key Window key + R.

    >> Now Run menu will appear on the screen.

    >> For the regular use you need to remove virus.
