Secure Wi-Fi not asking password even though connects to Windows XP

When I try to use secure Wi-Fi with my PC running on Windows XP, it says I am already connected to secure Wi-Fi network. But, it never asks me the password for accessing internet. Instead of that, it shows up the error message saying “Windows was unable to find a certificate to log you on to the network <network name>”. How can I resolve this issue?

    Hi.
Ensure that IEEE 802.1x authentication of the wireless adapter is disabled and follow below steps:

    >>Click Start, then select Run.
    >>In the Run dialog box type ncpa.cpl and then click OK.
    >>Right-click the Wireless network connections icon, and then select Properties.

    >>Click the Wireless network tab.
    >>Click the Properties button beside Remove.
    >>Click the Authentication tab, and clear the Enable IEEE 802.1x authentication for this network check box.
    >>Click OK to update the settings.

    Thank you.
