    Setting parental controls in Windows media centre in Lenovo notebook

    I would like to know how to set parental controls in Windows media centre. Please give a detailed note on this.

    Perform the following steps to set parental controls in Windows media centre.
    • In the start screen of Windows media centre click on ‘tasks’ and then on ‘Settings’.
    • Click on ‘General’ and then on ‘Parental Controls’
    • As you are doing this for the first time you will be asked for setting a password. Confirm it.
    For configuring parental controls for ‘TV’ do the following
    • Press the ‘TV Ratings’ and then on ‘Turn on TV blocking’.
    • Use the plus (+) and minus (-) buttons can be used to set the range of blocking.
    • To block a program that is not rated click on ‘Block unrated TV programs’ and then on ‘Save’.
    • To set parental controls for Movie/DVD Ratings do the following.
    • Click on ‘Movie/DVD Ratings ‘and then on ‘Turn on movie blocking’
    • The plus (+) and minus (-) buttons can be used to set the range of blocking.
    • To block content that is not rated click on ‘Block unrated movies’ and then on ‘save’
    Now you have successfully set parental controls in Windows media centre.

    STEP 1: Click on Start > All Programs > Windows Media Center.

    STEP 2: In Windows Media Center, Scroll down to Tasks and Select "Settings".

    STEP 3: Select "General" Option.

    STEP 4: Select the "Parental Control" Options.

    STEP 5: If you are Setting the Parental Controls in Windows Media Center, type the 4 Digit Access Code and Confirm it by typing it again.

    STEP 6: If you already have the Parental Controls Setup, type the Access Code.

    STEP 7: You can Setup or Change TV Ratings or Movie/DVD Ratings.

    STEP 8: To Setup or Change TV Ratings:

    • Select "TV Ratings".
    • Select Check the "Turn on TV Blocking" Check Box and use Plus (+) and Minus (+) Buttons to Select a Maximum allowed Rating.
    • Select the "Block unrated TV Programs", if you want to restrict Content that is not rated.
    • To adjust the Settings by Content in addition to Rating, Click on the "Advanced". Click on the "Save".

    STEP 9: To Setup or Change Movie/DVD Ratings:

    • Select Movie/DVD Ratings.
    • Check on "Turn on Movie Blocking" Check Box and Select Plus (+) and Minus (-) Buttons to select the Rating.
    • To Restrict the Content that is not Rated, Check "Block Unrated Movies" and Click on the "Save".

    STEP 10: Close the Windows Media Center after done with it.

    Hello,

    Open the media center.
    Than open the media settings , now click on the general section after which on the parental control.
    Set a password.
    Now make the changes as per your requirements and needs and then save it.

    Please follow the following procedure to set the controls:
