    Hello my friend,
IT is necessary to protect your connection from unauthorised use.
You can do it by creating password protected connection.
You can also take help of third party software like HOTSPOT which has some really nice feature.
to create password in windows follow these steps
start->control panel->network sharing center->set up new connection network->set up wireless ad hoc network
and follow the steps in the wizard.

Also note that you should choose WPA2 security type because it is much safer than WEP.

    ALL THE BEST.

    Follow these steps:

    1.Click START>CONTROL PANEL>NETWORK AND INTERNET CONNECTIONS.

    2.And click NETWORK CONNECTIONS.

    3.Open the NETWORK SETUP wizard.

4.Enter in the details about your home network when prompted, including your network's name, type (wired or wireless), manner of Internet connection and Internet authentication information.

5.Open your Internet browser and type in the access address for your router.

6.This is typically something like "http://192.168.1.1" and is normally listed on the bottom of your router.

7.Enter in your router's username and password.

8.lick on the Security tab. Click on the option to use password protection and input in your desired network password.

9.Reboot the computer to save changes.

    Hello,
You can set password on your connection by these steps.
    1. goto start type ad-hoc, press enter
    2. then follow the steps and when it asks about protection select WPA2 or higher option to setup a password for your connection.
In this way your connection will be more safer and hard to crack..
