Sound is not working in Windows XP after doing upgrade from Windows 7 to Windows 8 in the dual boot

I use to dual boot my PC with Windows XP and Windows 7 where everything works fine but now recently I did the upgrade of Windows 7 to Windows 8 Developer preview OS and right after that I am not able to hear any sound in Windows XP. Can you tell me why this is happening? How to fix this problem?

~> If your Windows 7 Sound is not working, then it means that there is lack of appropriate driver of your PC compatible with Windows 7.

~> You will have to search for the appropriate audio driver on the Internet and download it.

~> You may also download Realtek Audio Driver available on the http://filehippo.com.

~> After installing it, your Audio devices may start working.

~> However, you may search on Internet for the appropriate Audio Driver.

    Hi,
the problem you are facing is common in the window 8 user..
The window 8 is not the full version , it is only the trail version, so, it has not all the drivers .
That's why you are facing this problem.
You will get ride of this problem when you install the full version of the window 8 after its release..

Hope you have got your answer...

    Hey friend,
Actually there is no such reason due to which this type of problem occurs , windows 8 is not affecting your sound drivers in windows XP.
This may be because of driver faliure.

To solve your problem follow these steps:-
-right click on my computer and go to manage.
    -here select the device manager.
-now from the list select your sound card adapter
-right click on it and update drivers.
-Now disable and enable the adapter.

After restart your Sound card will start working properly.

hi dear friend..........there may be the Audio drivers gets crashed...

And to solve this issue re-install the audio drivers

and before the installation......remove the previous drivers for that.....

first click the start menu and right click on the my computer ICON

then click the properties.....and choose the Hardware TAB

then click on the device manager option

then click and expand the sound video and game controllers option

under the option right click on the VIA high definition audio option

and choose the uninstall option and follow the instructions............

after the uninstallation then insert the mother board CD/DVD in tot he ROM

and install the audio drivers again

then your problem will be resolved.......................ALL THE BEST

    Hi,

After the upgradation of windows 7 to windows 8 there was a driver conflict and no driver is active on your computer to provide you the sound effect.

Log on to Microsoft website and download a Audio Driver for Windows 8 and install.

Another way is using Device manager under Control Panel, you will find Sound Video and Game Controller, click it and you will find installed sound system, clicking on that icon will offer you the oppertunity to Update Driver clicking which you can update to a new driver for audio and your problem is over.

    Thanks.
