    hi there,

    There are a couple of ways you can disable the default SEARCH feature in Windows XP to search into the .ZIPand .CAB file archives.

    Doing so helps us get our search results faster. The simplest way to accomplish this is :

    * click START
    * go to RUN
    * type the following in it without quotes :

    "regsvr32 %WinDir%\system32\zipfldr.dll /u"

    (note : for 64 bit Pc's, you may need to type : " regsvr64 %WinDir%\system32\zipfldr.dll /u " )

    * press OK
    * press YES (if asked)

    We're done..!!

    NOW, in case, you need to turn it back, then you can turn the search to scan archives by the following command in the RUN :

    " regsvr32 %WinDir%\system32\zipfldr.dll "

    Enjoy..!!
