    Hiiiiii

    + Remove the power supply
    + Remove the PC battery
    + Remove the CMOS battery

After removing all above items, wait for 10 sec, then install them back.

Start the PC, you will be noticed of PC configuration (F1 to skip or F2 to enter the setup page). You can go either way.

After windows loading, you edit date and time, then you go to Dell.com to download the lastest BIOS and update it.

    Hope this helps.

Friend the only Battery which is responsible for the system clock is CMOS battery.
CMOS battery is a small round shaped battery present on the motherboard which is responsible for the system clock and also the BIOS passwords(IF ANY).
So you need to reinsert that battery and still it does not works then you have to buy a new one.

    hi my dear friend........

the mother board contains the Real clock timer

and these clock works with the power of CMOS battery

If the CMOS battery in the mother board Expires then the clock does not work

which results time changing and stopping issues

and to fix this issue turn off the PC and remove the CMOS battery and replace with the NEW CMOS

then your problem will be resolved

    THANK YOU..............

    Hi friend,
The system Clock runs based by the CMOS battery...First you could check up whther your clock is running in your BIOS setup..If the system clock not set then set the date and time and reboot the system...Otherwise you must change the CMOS battery

CMOS battery located on the motherboard, but this is not ordinary battery that you can find powering your handheld calculators.the first sign that your battery is failing is that your clock started to run slow & you will notice that your computer keeps forgetting the date and time or your computer is having a problem finding and accessing certain peripherals or your PC refuse to boot, displaying a CMOS Checksum error or "System Configuration Lost" message. When you experienced those signs it`s time to change your CMOS battery...

Please consult a service engineer for the hardware problems

    Thank you!!!

    Hi,

The main curcuit board is called motherboard and it has all essential chips installed on it.

Some of these chips need constant power supply to remain active and in tune, also clock and date needs regular power supply to refresh themselves.

To solve those issues there is a battery installed on the motherboard which in your case is possibly got exhausted or damaged which need to be replaced.

    Thanks.

remove and insert new supported CMOS will solve your problem

there might be another issue with your power failure
everytime you start system it will show the old date
sometime because of time zone setting you are running on different time

changing CMOS will solve your problem

    hope this will help you

    Hey..

There will be a battery located on the mother board called as CMOS battery .

when it is damaged or out of service then this problem will arise .

so , first of all replace that battery , it costs hardly 30-50Rs/-

then set the current time and date .

    save the changes .

    Thank you..

    Dear,
Actually in our PC(personal computer ) the system clock get energy from CMOS battery provided in our system ................Firstly check functionality of the same battery before buying new one as their can be other reason for your problem . Another reason can be setting of your system may have change because of any wrong input given to your system .
So first get check your CMOS battery and if OK , then go for other reasons ....................

In Computer CMOS Battery is responsible for Maintaining or setting the correct Date and Time in our systems

1 First Restart Your Pc and see if it start working or not
    2. If not Then I think there is problem in your CMOS Cell battery .
    * Open you CPU case and take CMOS cell out and put it again and check if problem is fixed
    3. If not then You have to buy a new CMOS Cell and replace it with previous one

Re: System Clock stopped working in Windows Vista in Sony laptop

To activate the stopped system clock you have to do:-

As we know while the PC remain under off position then the system watch receives energy from the PC internal battery.

After a long time the internal battery may exhaust then to keep on the watch you are to change the exhausted battery

from the motherboard. Whenever yoy change the battery your styem stopped battery will start to activate normally.

Then you should set the watch correctly to get time. The internal battery you are Servicing center can replace the

battery for this purpose you are to expense Rs.5o/-.

    Thank You,

Re: System Clock stopped working in Windows Vista in Sony laptop

    Hi Friend,
I also got the same issue when my computer got older ,i think 2to3 years.
Its clock was stopped and some time it showed the time and date of its manufacture day.
But when i consulted to the manufacturer he told me thatyour CMOS batteryhas expired and had stopped working.
He also told me that without it your bios ,time, and harddisk will not work properly.
It is like a cell in a watch or hanging clock.
So buy a new one . it will be available at any computer shop.
And change in your cpu from old one .
    Your problem will be solved.

    hii...
Whn you boot up your computer, if the error is shown that Date and time cannot be updated due to CMOS failure, the simply open the CPU and you will find a battery(circular) and remove it precisely.
Go to a retailer and bring a new one(Panasonic, mitsubishi) These brands are better.
And Insert it like it was.
Restart your computer and The clock will work after you set the GMT location of +5:30.

    Hello friend,

I have the solution for your problem just do as i say................

1.This was the problem of the CMOS battery.

2.If the battery is used more then it will stop working.

3.Then only the Clock also stops working.

4.So to fix this problem you have to replace the CMOS battery with the new one.

I hope by doing as i said you can solve your problem.

    Have a nice day..............

The computer Time runs based mostly by the CMOS battery...First you could possibly check-up whther ones alarm clock is usually operating as part of your BIOS setup..If the unit alarm clock certainly not set then set the starting time and date and reboot the system...Otherwise you need to get a new CMOS electric battery

CMOS electric battery situated on the motherboard, nevertheless this may not be normal electric battery that you could find guiding ones handheld calculators.the initial warning that your electric battery is usually unable is your alarm clock started off to perform slower & you will see that your personal machine retains negelecting the starting time and date or maybe your computer is having a dilemma discovering and opening specified peripheral devices or maybe your PC not allow as well, presenting a CMOS Checksum miscalculation or perhaps "System Setup Lost" message. When you expert those people clues it`s moment to change your CMOS battery...

Re: System Clock stopped working in Windows Vista in Sony laptop

First of all I will tell you that if you clock displaying incorrect time then it means that your system's CMOS battery has mistake otherwise it is need to replacement

It is result of your CMOS battery is going down. It usually happens with very old computer.

The CMOS chip stores information about the system configuration, including the date and time. CMOS battery is present CMOS chip.

So you need to replace your CMOS battery. However before doing that check whether it is creating the issue or not.

You can change BIOS battery and restart windows. Please set the clock in BIOS and save it.
