    Hi,

Let me analyse things for you which may come handy for you.

The problem you are encountering might come from two corners.

    1. Hardware,
    2. Software.

Now, in case of Hardware failure when the touchpad is physically damaged you dont have much to do other than taking that to the service center and repair that.

If that is a software related problem possibly that will involve a corrupt device driver and that can be changed to make the system work again.

To do that, follow the process mentioned:

START > CONTROL PANEL > SYSTEM AND SECURITY > DEVICE MANAGER > click on the device MOUSE AND OTHER POINTED DEVICES > UNINSTALL > UPDATE DRIVER.

This will do the trick for you.

    Thanks.
