Trouble in opening a folder having mkv files on Windows 7

I have some mkv files inside a folder created through my PC running on Windows 7. I am not open that folder as the windows explorer tend to crash immediately. I can view the “explorer.exe crashed” message on Event viewer while making an attempt to open the folder. Is there any fix available for this problem?

As a first step, launch windows explorer on your system. Then, choose ‘Organize’ from the available options. The next step required is to click the ‘Folder and Search Option’ option. Press the ‘View’ tab from the dialog box pop up on the screen. Locate the ‘Always show icons, never thumbnails’ option under ‘Files and Folders’ section. Click the checkbox next to this option until you can see a check mark inside it. Press the ‘OK’ button afterwards and check whether it is possible to open the folder.
