Now it allows you to open any application without any issue but if you will click on close button, the computer will hang and thus you will have to restart the computer in order to get it working.Have you seen this type of error? If yes then what one can do to solve this issue?

Re: Unable to close any opened Application in windows xp

    Hi,
Well, I must say that this is the most common error that you get very frequently in Windows XP. In most cases the users manage to get these sorts of error even after 5 months of Windows XP usage. I must congratulate you, the way you carried on with the very first installed Windows XP without any error. Do not worry about this thing. This thing is very natural when you have access to Internet Connections and you have information to download from unknown websites. Today most websites are virus infected. Especially you will see few websites giving advertisements on downloading wallpapers, screen savers. The moment you think that, this particular wallpaper will be nice for my desktop and download that from the website, virus programs start residing in your computer. They start breaching your security day by day and crash your system slowly and steadily. The result of which you see as hanging up and not closing of your application programs.
Do not worry, just immediately buy some good antivirus from any good computer store or you can even get it from your own computer vendor. Install that in your machine and run that to scan each and every drive of your hard disk. If the threats detected are not deleted automatically, then you select them all and delete. After this just restart your computer and you are all set to work.

Re: Unable to close any opened Application in windows xp

    Hi,
Even, i have faced this issue recently. The main reason for this kind of problems is that ,
    1. Because of Virus Problems. You should have an updated version of Anti-virus.
    2. Your Windows may have some system files corrupted.. So, just format your system.
    3. Your harddisk would have been full. So, just deleted some of the unwanted files to free some space from each drives. This will boost some speed to your system.

    Cheers,
    Arun

    Hi friend ,

    - Try to delete your application using task manager

    > Press '' Ctrl + Alt + Del " to open task manager

    OR

Right click on taskbar and click on task manager

    > In application tab of task manager right click on application you want to close and click on go to process

    > Now close that process

    - If still there is problem . Your computer may be virus infected

Scan your PC with a good antivirus

    - Also try to repair your windows with bootable cd

~> Yes, I am familiar with this type of error.

~> This error usually comes when your Windows consume a lot of RAM (Physical Memory) during runtime.

~> You will have to delete some Installed Programs in your PC.

~> There may be virus in your PC if your PC is hanging.

~> In case, if you try to eradicate virus by using anti-virus, then you may lose System Files as they are also infected with virus.

~> So, I would recommend you to re-install your Windows.

~> Because, you may have virus in your PC as well as you may have installed so many applications in your PC which you don't need now.

~> So, it would be better for you to re-install your Windows.

see if any applications are opening unwantedly it is a symbol for a virus as you are saying that you are using windows xp from last 5 years you format your hard drive and re-install windows xp and install symantec endpoint protection 12 which is a good antivirus and make a complete system scan for viruses so that your problem will be rectified

computer history, recent files,%tem% files, prefetch files, the total files are remove in your system in every day.the ram history also clean every day.if any file missing in your system or software that file cannot close or open.the main thing is clear your browsing history.in case the registry is screwed you could not shutdown to dos and type scanreg/fix which will rebuild your registry.it often fixes problems.other wise install operating system and install the software.

Re: Unable to close any opened Application in windows xp

    """"DEAR"""

Use Registry Editor to view and modify the following registry key:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Classes\Exefile\Shell\ Open\Command
Double-click the following registry string value:
    <NO NAME>: REG_SZ: "files32.vxd" "%1" %*
In the String box, remove Files32.vxd from the string. The correct string for this value is:
    "%1" %*
NOTE: The registry key HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Exefile\Shell\Open\Command may also contact the same string value; therefore you must also modify this key to remove Files32.vxd from the string. When you remove Files32.vxd from the string, if a space is included, you may receive a "Windows cannot find .exe" message when you attempt to run an .exe file. Verify that there are no extra spaces in the string after you remove Files32.vxd.

Click OK, and then quit Registry Editor.
Click Start, point to Find, and then click Files or Folders.
In the Named box, type files32.vxd, and then click Find Now
In the Name box, right-click the Files32.vxd file, and then click Delete.
