Unable to copy a file from Windows 7 to XP through virtualbox

I am using windows 7 ultimate 64-bit on my computer. I installed oracle virtualbox to run windows xp. I can run XP successfully but i can’t copy a file from 7 to XP. I tried to do it using the “Shared Folder” option but i couldn’t run it. Then i tried to copy files using a 2GB flash drive but had no success. Can you tell me how to copy a file from windows 7 to windows xp?Do i need to install any driver for it?

You need to configure the shared folders functionality as described in Virtualbox’s documentation. Here is a link to the online FAQ which outlines the process https://forums.virtualbox.org/viewto...p=33945#p33945 . As far as USB drives go,you need to configure your virtual machine to mount the drive. Click on the virtual Machine to mount the drive. Click on the virtual Machine’s “Settings” icon and then check the “Enable USB controller” and “Enable USB 2.0(EHCI) controller” options. You’ll then be able to select your USB drive from the list.

    Hi dear friend................

To avoid the above issue......simply download the Oracel VB Extension pack from the internet

then enable the USB ports .....after that copy in to pendrive .... to transfer the files to your VM

and for the download visit this link https://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Downloads and download the Extension pack

then install it.......after that open the Virtual box window

now click on SETTINGS menu .....and choose USB at the left pane
    1.jpg
then select Enable USB2.0 ( ECHI) controller option.....and click OK

now click the START button from the menu ....after the login ... insert the USB drive ....and paste the files in to VM

    ALL THE BEST!!!!!!!!!

friend you need to put the folder in share mode from which you want to copy the file
configure your virtual box and mount the drive where the file is located

in virtual box setting check whether the "Usb Controller" is enabled or not
if not enable it and then copy the files which you want from the shared folder.
    this will work.
